I like to read biographies. The story is written as a fictional story based on the life of Martin and Reni. A carpenter becoming a covert spy sounds interesting to me. Congrats on BOTD.

Enchanting book. I have never been a lover of biographies but I will give this a trial. Martin's life seems interesting. Great review!

I don't usually read historical fiction from this era, but I can't deny the fact that I'm incredibly interested in reading this one. I love that it's derived from first person interviews, and it's awesome that there are images included throughout, and the opportunity to listen to recordings. Fantastic! Thanks for your insightful review!

An autobiography written as fiction? Interesting! I really appreciate when biographies include photos and real documents. It makes the story more believable and captivating. The list of the websites where the readers can find more information about this character is also useful and appropriate. Thanks for the review!

Thankyou for the review. Your review got me quite intrigued about the book. Though this is not a genre that I would enjoy reading much, I will surely give this book a try solely on the basis of your review.

I enjoy reading historical accounts in stories and I find it intriguing that the author did put together history and biography. Sorry about the misspellings and punctuation errors, but i will still read the book. Thank you for your kind review.

I love historical fiction, although I have read a little too much WWII and post-WWII historical fiction for my liking lately. They're important time periods and I will certainly return to this book at a different time; I just need a break from these time periods in fiction for a while. Thank you for the helpful review.

I am definitely curious to read this book and discover how the war experieces will change young Martin's life. The appeal of the book is even greater due to its air of authenticity ensured by the family photos and photocopies of original documents. Thanks for an interesting review!

Iron Crossed. A compelling story of a fight to continue life despite the travails it presents. I appreciate the reviewer's commentary, and the emotional bond between the reader and the characters. This book should be seen as a beacon of hope; no matter how distorted life seems, we can always forge ahead.

I can't wait to read what Martin did to merit several iron crosses. It's unfortunate there are punctuation and spelling errors. I hope the author will fix them. A good review.

It's really an interesting book. I'm curious to read the full book. The author has written a beautiful memoir of his father's military services during the world war. Great review.

Interesting review. I wouldn't have expected a book with a military touch to be as interesting. The author did a good job.
