It seems the author had a tough childhood. It takes a lot of courage to speak up about these things, let alone write a book, when you have been affected by it directly. Kudos to them for doing so. This book will create awareness in parents and help people who have been through this better cope and feel less alone.
Darlington Onuoha did a wonderful job with this review. I like how she coaxes the reader to dig deeper by posing a question at the end of the book summary. I also like that she talked about the parts of the book she didn't enjoy reading. This gives insight to certain events that might be triggering to some people.
