War always brings out the survivor in us. I wonder if Brigya will survive. I think I will enjoy this book.

Great review!

This seems like a very enlightening book to read but some of it seems hard to stomach. I’ve learned about this part in history before and I’m not sure I could handle reading it again. Good job on the review and I wouldn’t think it a good book for children either.

Everytime I read about the German genocides against the Jews, my heart quakes. However, the plot of this story is one full of hope and desire to survive against the odds. This is a fantastic story.

This is definitely an enthralling and captivating story. I am ardent fan of historical fiction and as the book offers much on the Nazi occupation of Poland, I am adding this to my shelf. Thanks for the review.

Wow! An insight to the nasty brutality of the Germans to Jews sounds interesting. Although I can already picture gruesome scenes, still, I'd love to read the book for I am much curious about how and why the Germans maltreated the Jews. Thanks for such great review! :)

From what I have read, it seems to me that this is a truly interesting tale on how the Jews were treated in the time of the Nazi regime. I can only imagine the horrors that are found between these pages, however I think those who can, should read this novel, so that the acts of violence of the past will never be relived again. Thank you so much for your wonderfully written review! Happy reading :techie-studyinggray:

Choosing one twin to train and not the other has a "Sophie's Choice" vibe to it. The book sounds compelling from your review, but I'm not sure that that's the kind of emotional weight I want to get into right now. Congratulations, though, on Book of the Day!

This sounds like an interesting book to read. I was captivated by the caption, and the review turned out great. I hope Harran equips her grandchild the necessary skills to enable her survival.

The beauty of historical fiction is in the synergy between fiction and history. The author did an excellent job of fusing these in the book. I like the story of Jewish survival from Nazi genocides.

It's interesting to learn about history from fiction. The Nazi story always holds an interest for me. I like that this book tries to explore what it was like from the Jewish perspective.
It'll make an interesting read.
