This kind of review can only come from a smart person. However, i find ancient Egyptian history as being too complex. I could easily get turned off. I hope other readers find this book interesting. Thanks of the review.

Books on Ancient culture do interest me but I am not really sure about this. There is no harm in trying anyway. I have heard a little about Akhenaten’s rule this would be an opportunity to know more. Thanks for your review, you have done well.

Egypt as the focal point of book makes this a very interesting read and I’m looking forward to digging into this book to be on a journey with Lord Hani as he performs his duty as a royal emissary, and a loyal servant of the king. With a new king, how would his life be amidst solving a murder is intriguing.

This story looks quite attractive; and for the first time, I see a story in this time period so it is very interesting to me. I'm pleased to know that the language the author uses is vernacular and not at all complex. I'm really intrigued by the development of this story and how Lord Hani deals with the dilemma he finds himself in. Thanks for this captivating review.

You're right, I've read several books that bring Egyptian myths into the modern era in order to create a story, but I've never read a book that is actually set in era of ancient Egypt. I can't wait to read this.

I love historical fiction. I am always on the hunt for great historical fiction not set during WWII. This looks like a book I should add to my list. Super interested in the ancient Egypt aspect.

The book is very interesting , it is an historical fiction. The author speak about Egypt civilisation, religion and culture. The country is known about big pharaon and how do they leave. Mr N.L Holmes describe clearly about Egypt before and after to help readers for understanding the beautiful story in Egypt. Many thanks for the excellent review.

Solving a murder is always an intriguing story. The center's plot is about how Lord Hani deals with the mission to keep the peace in Egypt as an emissary. I'm not a fan of historical fiction books, but I enjoy learning about ancient cultures because there are a lot of mysteries that would come revealed. The style language used in this book might be inappropriate and bothers some readers, but some would find it better and understandable. Thank you for a well-written review.

Certainly it sounds as if there is a broad spectrum of human engagements and emotions expressed even 33 centuries ago in Royal Ancient Egypt. A diplomat - fancy that - is depicted in the milieu of Upper Egypt in the course of his work, engaging in maintaining advantageous ties for his Sovereign and spending time at home in a setting that is described in some detail. BOTD has to be a book to be enjoyed by anyone who wants to be transported to the time of magic and Pharaohs, and nubile lasses that serve as maidservants in sumptuous palaces.

"Lord Hani’s relationship with his family is one of the most genuine and heart-warming that I have seen portrayed, and the author beautifully captures the familial drama that can unfold when everything you have ever known is forced to change." From this, I had learnt that despite the challenges one is facing, family is the only "place" one would get solely back up even if only one person give it.

Reading this great review, I became very interested to read it. Moreover, I also like historical fiction. This book is very interesting and suspenseful, especially when it tells about the ancient beliefs of the Egyptians, which caused divisions among the people and political tensions in the Egyptian empire that led to riots. This book is recommendable and worth to be read. Great review.

I'm not particularly a fan of historical fiction, especially one that takes place during 2300 BC. I do love the fictional portion of this story that follows Lord Hani and how he does everything he can to keep peace in the land and solve a murder mystery. Thank you for this well-written review!
