The Vanished follows Kim Embon, the son of a privileged Korean family. Throughout most of his life, Embon was unaware of the political and social realities of Korea, particularly under Japan's rule. When Embon decided to study in Japan, his life took a drastic turn, and he discovered a new reality and a desire for freedom that he had never felt before.

"The Vanished" by Pejay Bradley offers a glimpse into Asian history. Despite the rushed ending, fans of historical fiction will find the book worthwhile. Thanks for the helpful insights.

"The Vanished" draaws my attention because of several aspects. One is the eagerness to experience the Korean Culture and history and the experience of the many characters the author used to weave together this book. Am eager to get hold of this book and read it

Congrats on BOTD!
Pejay Bradley's "The Vanished" seems like a profoundly moving and enlightening book. You are drawn in by the fiction pertaining to history, Embon's travel time, his realization, the struggle for liberty, and the compromises made by individuals.

This review clearly shows how Pejay Bradley's The Vanished brings to life Korea's tough fight for its own country, telling the story through many personal viewpoints and deeply showing its rich culture and the huge human price paid for freedom.

Quite riveting historical novel "The Vanished" by Pejay Bradley, which takes us back in time when Koreans were known as the people without a nation. The story focuses on the life of Kim Embon and the socio-historical landscape of Korea. The book appears quite interesting to read.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Firstly I would say at the beginning it may feel slow or dry. I haven't read the whole book because it was the sample one but I find it historic. It focuses on setting up the world's history. This story would be more fun or interesting in movie, web series for people to watch and reach tk maximum audience. But for intense readers "The Vanished" could be a meaningful choice.

The ending has left me hanging and yawning for more, am I trigged and over whelmed by this historical fiction. It made me visualise sitting home in my sofa and watching a Korean drama series.

As much as I am not a huge fan for history or its fiction either this story review gave me every reason as to why I don't like history 🤣🤣
But the story is thrilling and definitely worth a read. I have watched a number of Korean history fiction movies to understand this book and for lovers of this genre I will recommend it. This was a well detailed review.

Thank you for your honest and insightful review of Pejay Bradley’s historical novel, The Vanished.
I know very little about Korean history, and I think this novel will be a great way to learn about Korean and Japanese history.
Congrats on BOTD!

It seems my country, the Philippines, and Korea experienced the same brutality from the Japanese during that painful time in history. (Now that the Japanese are the peaceful people that they are, this part of history seems unthinkable.)

The quoted dialogues from the book are truly memorable. "Save a bullet for yourself" is one that stands out. The reviewer's question "Is anyone really free" is indeed thought-provoking.

Too bad there were issues with the point of view and the ineffective dialogues which impacted on the book's rating.

The review is beautifully detailed and informative.
The book appears to be a sweeping historical novel that uses the personal journeys of characters, primarily Kim Embon, to illuminate a critical period of Korean history when the nation struggled under Japanese occupation. I think it increases curiosity and will be a good read. Congrats on BOTD.
Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

Nice review, this sounds like a good read for those who love historical fiction. I will love to know why they are being given directions not to get captured alive. I might have to read this book.
