The key themes of this work are love, loss, bravery, perseverance, and survival. Additionally, the review is much more alluring and thorough because it highlights the relevant topics.

The book seems interesting and gives a nice insight into the life in Frontier America: the transportation, the business and what hardships people went through during that period of time. Nell's maturing must ahve been pretty harsh from a happy childhood in Iowa to a difficult life in the Old West. it will be interesting to read it. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Can't wait to find out more about the adventurous journey to Oregon. It will also be interesting to read about how Nell copes with having to become an adult at 11. Congratulations on BOTD!

I enjoy historical fiction, although Nell had to be a grown up at 11 I think that was the norm back in the 1800's - it certainly was in the UK. The different ways of talking sound like they help identify different races and classes. Thank you for a great review I will definitely read this book!

I'm already rooting for Nell and her dad. I don't read much of historical fiction, so I'll pass on this book.

I struggle with dialect also. I’m amazed how authors can grasp that in their writing, but it can be tedious to read.

I am not a fan of western novels so I will pass on this one. Great job on the review though.

In Nell's West by Erin Eldridge, the setting offers fascinating aspects of the west that I would love to explore.

Thank you for your review. This should be an interesting story that gives us an idea of what the pioneering American West was like. Your criticism of the language used is a valid one. Authors want to portray as much realism as possible in their stories but need to ensure that readers can actually understand what the characters are saying. I would have preferred the use of normal English as communicating the story and ideas to the reader surely supersede that of realism. Otherwise, we would never have characters from non-English speaking countries!

What a wonderful review, you mention a drawback being difficult to read passages but overall the book was excellent enough to overcome. Must mean it is a phenomenal book, headed to download now!

Nell and her dad are off to a new chapter in their life after a tragedy. I’d love to read more about their journey.
