Even being a romance fan, I actually wasn't too sure at first if this was one I wanted to get into. However, I can wholeheartedly say that this review has sparked my interest and convinced me that I could gain something valuable from reading it. While I can’t speak on it from the war soldier perspective, I definitely do know the toll trauma takes on one’s being firsthand, and the challenge that lies in starting over.
One of my takeaways from this book was that we shouldn’t give up on finding love, and the best things in life come when we’re not even looking.
Amidst all the chaos that naturally comes with a personal journey, this should always be a main factor to abide by. It could even just apply to loving yourself since you can’t fully love anybody else otherwise. I hope this book makes that point clear.

I love that the author decided to write about what happens in military, making us aware of what soldiers face in military. I am glad that Kelly find his purpose in life after the trauma he went through.

I would love to find out what Kelly went through and how difficult it must have been for Rita while he was away. This is a sad romance story but would read it. Congrats on BOTD

I could tell from the review that this book takes you on an emotional relicoster from Kelly experiencing trauma while at military, not having a purpose and losing himself in the process, to falling in life and finaling finding purpose in life. It sound like an amazing book .

The book starts with an injured, pitiful Kelly being rescued after three years. He was tortured beyond belief. Soon, the story goes to his present, showing how everything came to be. The book's sample and the Amazon description made me want to cry. We genuinely don't appreciate our war heroes enough. Congratulations on BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

I love that as the author wrote about the challenges faced in military during war. The author shows us that it is not all glitter and gold, but I also love that the author also gave us a happy ending where Kelly finds love and his purpose of life.

Nice review. "Saving KC" by Grinnell Desjarlias revolves around Kelly who moved to California and joined army. His life changed after getting released being captive. How his new found love will change his life is central theme of plot. The author beautifully weaved romance, resilience and affection.

I both love and hate where the sample left off. Kelly's relationship with his parents hit some chords with me; emotionally hardened father, sweet attentive mother. I really appreciate that Kelly doesn't abandon his dreams when faced with the reality of his brother and the future of the ranch. I absolutely loved meeting Rita and her family. After I finished the sample, I realized that Kelly was in his memories and healing on a hospital bed. He also couldn't get ahold of Rita or her parents on the phone. That's torture, having such wonderful future plans with someone, only to have it stolen away by war. Ouch. I loved it. Might be purchasing the book to get the rest of the story.

I enjoyed the review and how it touch every part of the story. Kelly was really tough and suffered much. It is sweet to know he found love again. The book is contained with both resilience and romance.

You did a concise and informative review of this book. As a result, my interest in this book is heightened. Through this author's words, I want to experience the traumas that are endured by those our leaders send to defend our national security. I want to see how a traumatized soldier tries to rebuild his or her life. This book is going on my bookshelves. :techie-studyinggray:

The review was impressive.Soldiers' lives and the trauma they experience in service are seldom talked about. I'm interested in delving into the book to explore Kelly's life journey and gain insights into the challenges soldiers face.

'Saving KC' is a book about the horrors and trauma faced at war, but this is also a book about love, hope, and resilience. What I take away from the story is that it's never later to start over, and that's a decision you or I can make.

How nice to see a book that educates people about the hardships and traumas of war and at the same time might send some positive message to those who feel like they are not going to find love again because they went though some similar experience.
