Despite historical not being a genre I read very often, I've found myself adding books similar to this (historical romance via reincarnation) to my to-read list lately.
The fact that it comes so highly praised is just icing on the historical romance cake!

I added Yesterday to my want to read bookshelf because I like both historical fiction and romance. As a historian, I am interested in the themes of the American Civil War and how people lived in the South at the time. As for the romantic aspect, I am intrigued by the idea of soulmates reincarnating and traveling through time. Sounds like a beautiful novel. Thanks for the excellent review!

This book sounds intriguing, but I'm not one to enjoy angsty romance. It sounds like this book smacks of it. I'd like the story to prove me wrong, however! Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres. I love the idea of a character having been reincarnated, and I'd be interested to see how the author introduces two characters who meet and happen to have lived past lives. I can only say that had be a tricky plot to weave. I look forward to reading this book.
