This sounds like a good plot, but with the emphasis on facts more than emotion, I doubt it will be a favorite.

The book sounds interesting to me as I enjoy reading about strong women characters. I also thought this was an excellent review and thoroughly described the strengths and weaknesses of the book. I would consider reading this book as I love historical fiction.

Thanks for the thorough review! I agree with you regarding the portrayal of female characters in the book. There should be more historical fiction novels that discuss strong female participants in a respectful manner.

Sometimes as an editor, it is hard to edit a work when the author, himself, does not word things correctly. You would have to either re-write the whole thing for him, give up, or just try your best to at least make it understandable. In this case, think the editor may have just tried to at least make things readable.

I like how the women, against their time, are strong willed and their characters are developed that way. Very nice review here. Well done.

A book that explores the boundaries of gender norms during the Middle Ages definitely sounds like a unique concept. Thanks for the through review.

I just love a fast paced and fast moving story. I also like it that the story takes place during the Middle Ages, and the very mention of Vikings!

Upon seeing the book, I felt a sudden rush of emotions like when I'm watching the 300.

Show, don't tell should always be in the writer's mind. I too would find this kind of writing very dry. However, the book does sound interesting. I like the idea of strong female characters defying gender norms of the time. Thanks for your insightful review!

I like a good Viking story, and the cover looks very professional! It's too bad there are grammar errors, though, that would distract readers from the story.
