I don't think that I would normally pick this book up, but you make it sound really interesting. Great job on the review!

Thank you for the review. Progresive movement had a big role in creating the world as we know it today. Despite a few downfalls (prohibition for example) it achieved many great things (women right to vote being one of them.) I especially like there is genuine song from the era in the book and that there is list of resources on the end.

Thank you for a thorough review, and recommendation for Historical Fiction. It certainly is an important story to shed light on, but so often in this genre the author can get lost in the details of their characters, or alternatively engrossed in the history living a dry narrative. It appears that this novel has a combination of both important factors, and I would look forward to giving it a read.

Thanks for the review. I love books that have a research info in them so that if you want to you can investigate further. It is so helpful that the author did that and to know that her information has some sustenance to it.

:D This really made me want to read the book. I'm kind of shocked because prior I hadn't even given it a thought. Now I definitely am dying to pick it up. It seems like quite the learning experience by just getting a glimpse of what the emotions of these women could've been like during these times of strife. While even bringing in male actions and perspective! Nonetheless kudos to you for giving this review and letting others (like myself) know of this read. Plus kudos to the author for getting those not really educated or knowing how to relate to the topic enrapt. How cool! :)

Thank you very much for your review. Just like you, I think I can learn a great deal about American history and what the suffragist did at that time. I find the blending of fiction and history very interesting and I think I would also enjoy my time with this book.

Thanks for your fantastic review! This book is going on my to-read shelf, even though I rarely read historical fiction. I will start with Hattie's Place because I can't stand reading books out of order (always a bad move in urban fantasy), but I'm also volunteering at a historic house, and these books are the right time period. So thanks for giving me a leg up on my research as well!

Great review on what seems like a memorable book! I love that this historical fiction focuses on women's suffrage and that the characters are string, as well as the plot. Congratulations to the author for receiving a positive review!
