I really liked the Other Boleyn Girl-- it was the first Philippa Gregory novel I read and was hooked. I've read several others but have done a poor job of tracking which ones or trying to read them in historical order. I think I may start from the beginning at some point and read them in chronological order, filling in the timeline gaps with the books I havent read yet!

One of my favorites for sure! I feel like the author had to make some judgement calls in regards to the historical inaccuracies but all in all I feel like she does well in keeping with the time frame with accepted behaviors and norms. There are things that she couldn't possibly know because a lot of decisions were made on the fly and not written down and she can only assume based off of what happened next historically speaking. It's a fascinating series for sure, I even went back and read the "The Cousins War" series which predates The Other Boleyn Girl. I've also read other authors around the topic and about the topic to get their point of view and always I find that Gregory gives the best "why" for writing what she did when she did and how it makes for an interesting story, to me that's just as important as the story itself. After all, isn't the point of a good book is to make you ask questions and research further?
