Your enthusiasm for this book is truly contagious and your review is masterfully written. So, you can bet I´m going to read this one!
The plot sounds very interesting and engaging, and I love when I get to learn a little history without it feeling like a textbook. The fact that the editing is excellent is amazing too.
Great review, great book, to my shelves!

Great review. While historical fiction is really not my cup of tea this sounds like a great read for fans of the genre. The intriguing characters, adventure, blackmail, mysterious heirlooms, and the draw you in tight writing sounds fabulous. Congrats to the author on a terrific review.

I am a fan of historical fiction books and I can't wait to read this one. I would like yo know if the student was able to find the missing heirlooms and what events unfold in the process of the search. I'll get a copy, read it and let you know what i think about about it. Thank you for the review.

This is a very well thought out review of The Crimson Heirlooms. I too like Les Misérables, but I know very little about French history. This book sounds like a strongly written historical novel. Your review helped me to see how the book is put together with two different time periods, helping the readers know when the heirloom disappeared. I struggled with reading the preview because it seemed to discuss many different philosophies. After reading your review, maybe the book will be easier to read.

I'm not a big fan of historical fiction, but I do love a good story. This sounds like a great story! I can't wait to finish it.

The Crimson Heirlooms by Hunter Dennis is a historical fiction, written in the background of the French revolution. The year is 1832 and an American student studying in France, has joined a secret revolutionary society but to his surprise, he finds himself in the trap of a millionaire blackmailer.

The student bound to search for two heirlooms: a necklace, the cross of Nantes and the lyrics to a song, but before the student starts his search for the heirlooms the author tells about how the heirlooms were stolen and from here the background of the novel changes to old France.

The author seems to be more interesting in telling the historical aspects of the French revolution and French landscapes during the period of 1700-1832.

I was always interested to read about the French revolution and the French landscapes and in this historical fiction, I find many interesting historical facts.

The book seems pretty interesting with skilfully interwoven historical facts of France in 1776 and 1832. Beisdes it has also the mystery of the lost Heirlooms which are so much desired by a French nobleman. Unfortunately I'm not into historical fiction but I'm sure the book will find its reader as the book sounds intense. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Nice review. I really like historical fiction. I also loved Les Mis (the book and the musical). This book is intriguing to me, in that it travels to the Les Mis time period before dancing back (with the devil, apparently) to an earlier French period. I look forward to reading this book and delving into historical immersion. Cheers.

This review gave me more information that I needed to know. Historical fiction isn’t my go to, more into historical romance, but I’m very picky about them also. So I’ll be checking the book out to see for myself if I’ll truly love it. Hopefully, it’s a good book as you said it is. :techie-studyingbrown:

I usually don't read historical fiction but this one involving a mystery is right up my alley. I love your review. You sold me on reading it. Thanks.

I have never been fond of history books and such so spare me if at first, I held little interest in reviewing this book, but nevertheless the mystery that once was hidden in he pages has urge me to keep reading till the last page. The story is set in France from 1776 – 1832 and in the West Indies. It introduces two characters--Xavier and Jake who may have different timelines but are quite related to each other. Honestly, I don't usually read books of these genre but I must say that this book is good, stimulating and it also mirrors the societal issues of times. It also mentions the French clergy who received a huge amount of payments from the pocket of the poor and middle class without paying taxes, and not to forget the things that weren't mentioned in my history class about the American and French Revolution. The characterization, flow of the scenarios, style in writing, and the information fed for my brain has made me come to a decision to give it a 4 out of 5 stars. :techie-studyinggray:
