The summary is interesting. But historical fiction isn't my cup of tea. I appreciate your note on the sensitive content. It would bother me. Thank you for an insightful review.

"This mission is highly perilous, as the papal army pursuing the worldwide dominance of the Roman Catholic Church assassinate with the utmost cruelty all dissenters of the Catholic faith." This is a fascinating review, looking forward to enjoying the book.

I love book stories that go back in time and for the fact that the setting is in Italy, I wouldn’t wait to read it. From your review, I noticed that Leonardo Da Vinci and the Medici family was involved in the book’s plot. Great review.

The Waldensian Martyrs is an interesting historical fiction novel, and I am curious to know if Pietro succeeds in his mission.

"The Waldensian Martyrs" by Pam Vause vividly recreates the perilous world of fifteenth-century Italy, where the Waldensian de Vaux family and their community bravely defy papal persecution, risking everything to spread their faith. The novel weaves historical detail with personal drama, compelling readers to witness Pietro’s dangerous mission and the resilience of a people determined to uphold their beliefs.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. The story is set in the fifteenth century, about a family in a small villa in Italy. I loved that the family members are so kind to each other, their extended family, and elderly neighbors. This is about persecution by the Catholic pope in that time in history.

I don’t know how anyone can profess a real faith and still persecute, or kill, others, denying them the same right. Congratulations on BOTD!

'Official Review: Waldensian Martyrs' by Pam Vause presents a clear picture of the plot of historical fiction. It mentions the relevant bright aspects of the book. This is the story of a unique small community professing Waldensian faith. The book portrays the life of the de Vaux family and the Valdensian community. Nearly every episode has surprises to unravel, and the underlying theme is unwavering faith in God. Readers will appreciate the inclusion of photographs of many places described in the book!

Set in the fifteenth century, in Borgata Cyrus, an Italian village located near the French border, a religious Christian group known as the Waldenses is persecuted by the Roman Catholic Church. "The Waldensian Martyrs" by Pam Vause is a captivating journey that immerses you in the historical context of the time. It follows the adventures of the Waldensian de Vaux family, who are trying to spread the gospel and avoid the Papal army, which is assassinating their kind. Survival is the game in this BOTD. Thanks for the informative review.

Readers who believe in the monotheistic god will enjoy the main conflict of Waldensian Martyrs: faith versus persecution. The ultimate message is that faith overcomes all obstacles. The story makes me feel grateful to the modern world for granting people the freedom to choose their faith.

This sounds like a good place to begin reading about the persecutions committed by the Vatican, especially for history enthusiasts. I'm particularly interested in reading the martyrs' experiences and what encouraged them on.

I highly recommend this novel to adult historical fiction fans. Intermittent scenes of medieval violence make this novel unpalatable for junior and sensitive readers. In addition, devout Catholics may find this novel objectionable because of the negative portrayal of the Roman Catholic Church.

I was raised a Catholic, and I live in a very devout country, but I think part of being an open-minded adult is realizing that all religions have done things that are wrong. It's to be expected because they are formed by humans.
And, like you, I love historical fiction. Thank you for your great review.
