I have heard enough of forbidden love stories during the period of WW2, and it always sparks my interest. It's really great to find a book that focuses on this when true forbidden love stories have taken place at that time. Thank you for your review!

So once you get through the first part it gets more interesting? I loved you're summary. The book sounds really good. I don't think about Africa when I think about that war either. It's interesting. Thank you for the fantastic review!

I'm surprised at the number of angles from which the World War II stories are written. War Serenade is written from an angle I've never read about the World War II. So, I'm definitely interested in reading this book. It never occurred to me how World War would affect the British colonies even if there's no direct link between them and the World War. So I'm grateful to the author for reminding us about it. I think most of the historical romance novel fans will find this book to their liking.

Sometimes reading historical novels make it seem like it makes it more real than the actual episode of history. looking forward to reading the book.

I'm not a big fan of World War II period but I do love romances. Besides the book is inspired by true events which is, in my experience, is always interesting to read about. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the reivew.

I love stories written in the time period of WWII as well. Like you, I don't often think about prisoner of war camps being in places like South Africa. We quickly think of the atrocities of the Holocaust and forget about other groups who suffered as well. Your review was well written and I especially like your "no spoiler" statement about the two love birds.

Great review. I enjoy reading books of war, especially WWII. This book seems interesting and I agree that usually when you think of World War II you think of the holocaust and the death camps they had. I really never recognize the other POW camps. I have added this to my list of must reads.

The more I read, the more I discover different aspects WWII. This book shows a whole new perspective of Italian soldiers in a POW camp in South Africa. The intertwined story of forbidden love sounds fascinating. I'm interested to see how things work out for Iris and Pietro.

I'm not a fan of Historical novels especially ones relating to Wars. But for the fact that the novel paved way for romance and love even in the midst of war then as a lover of romantic fictional novels I might try it out. The reviewer really made the novel seem interesting. Thank you for that Amazing review.

I like the aspect of forbidden love and things happening during wars. It makes things much more enticing to me as a reader.

Thanks for the very thorough review, but I don't like romance novels OR historical fiction on the best of days, and I certainly don't want to read one "set in South Africa during World War II", as those are both backdrops that I do not care for, especially if there are POWs involved.

Not a fan of historical fictions or books on the war so I added to my not interested in reading shelf. I like the plot of romance and forbidden love during the war though.
