This book sounds like the author is trying to assert his opinions through his characters. It's always good to know where the author stands on matters regarding faith and religion. These three events sound intriguing and I love your clear and concise review. However, I do think people in live-in relationships can do without physical relations :) I've seen a few examples around, so it isn't a rare thing. As a Muslim myself, I can see Sania's stand on that. Thank you for your insightful review though!

Yes, the author speaks through his characters. I am amazed that a couple in love can live together without having physical relations; they must have extraordinary self-control.
