This book is a historical account of what transpired in the Malayan jungle in 1946. It is no doubt very educational and inspiring. Thanks for a very comprehensive review.

It is pleasing to hear that the diabolically diverse cast is brought to life through accurately described native dialects and culturally appropriate terminology. That's a factor that can sometimes be tricky to get right! Thanks for the helpful review, and I'm now thinking that we all probably need a group of former intelligence operatives for friends. You just never know when you might find yourself in need of rescue! :wink2:

In this Warramunga series, MI6 are on a mission to rescue Colonel Johnny Cook, who was kidnapped by bandit. I love the storyline. Great review.

The plot has certainly piqued my interest. It sounds like the author has kept the page-turner pace he began with the previous books in the trilogy. Thanks for your great review.

This book, like the others in the series, sounds incredibly interesting. I love historical fiction stories. It sounds like this book can be read as a standalone which is the only way I would pick up a book in the middle of a series.

It is nice that the book can also be read as a standalone and that it was professionally edited. I do not usually read historical fiction or action adventures, but I am glad that you liked the book. Congrats to the author on the 4/4 rating!

I actually was wondering if I should go ahead and read them out of order. Nice to know the plot in this one can stand on its own. Thanks for the review.

I had no idea that Skills of the Warramunga is a part of a trilogy. I have to ask this for those that have read the other books- Do I have to read the other two in order to understand what is going on in this one? I would like to read this one as it is BOTM but if I do not understand the entirety of the story with just this book, then I will have to catch up and read the other two first. :)

While I enjoy mysteries, I don't particularly like stories with guns and fights. But the review makes it sound interesting. Thanks for the recommendation! I might read it.

I don't actually like historical fiction but this sounds really interesting. Kidnapping, mission and action makes me feel to read the book. But I think I'll start with the first book of this series. Thanks for your review!

I respect your awareness of the potential racial insensitivity! This sounds like an action-packed and interesting book. Great review!
