Its definitely a very different and interesting story. I can't wait to see if Irith and Jamal succeed in their vision, since it also seems like they have quite a bit of obstacles in their way. Congrats on BOTD and thank you for a detailed review.

I have read several texts set in the Middle East, especially centering around the political environment. I shall also check this out. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for your very detailed review. While parts of the book sound interesting, "m not in the mood for a heavy book at this time. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. I am curious how the two main characters get along as the book progresses.

Sounds like a interesting book to read. I want to know what ended up happening to the Israeli teenager, Irith Goldman and the Palestinian teenager, Jamal Shaheen. Great book and great review.

This is a historical fiction mystery thriller that takes place in the 1980s during the Israel-Palestinian conflict. The key characters are Irith, an Israeli teenager and a Palestinian teenager named Jamal and both blosoming opera singers. They attend high school that although it has both an Israeli and a Palestinian name it is a school that exists to promote peaceful coexistence in this war torn area. Their teachers promote the two teenagers as a opera singing duo. The turmoil is worse when stepping back and looking at their families and what they want for their children. Irith's family would prefer a medical career while Jamal has terrorist relatives. Will they grow up to be successful opera singers? Very good review of a book one needs to read to find out their outcome.

Operation Olive Tree seems like an intriguing historical fiction novel centered against the backdrop of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I like that the book has multiple perpectives on the Middle East conflict and isn’t seeking to take sides. I’m curious to know how the story plays out for Irith and Jamal. Splendid review!

Thank you for such an insightful review. I look forward to reading this novel, coming from a community where the Christians and muslims have misunderstandings that lead to bloodshed myself, I can almost relate to the situation and emotional state of the main characters, Irith and Jamal.

P.s I love historical fiction and music.

Israel and Palestine conflict has been raging for years. If this book talks of a friendship between two buddies from these two nations. This is obviously a must- read.

If there is true friendship between conflicting countries, the citizens won't be on the receiving end of their egotistical leaders. I love the theme of this book and I'll love to read it. Thanks for the great review

This well-written review is a good reason to read the book. I will like to read about Irith and Jamal myself; I'll like to find out whether they are actually pawns in a game that is bigger than they are or they are the game.
