The background of the Israel- Palestine conflict sounds interesting. I am curious about how Irith and Jamal will maintain their friendship in the face of a conflict that is bigger than them. Congrats on BOTD.

A historical fiction novel that explores the Isareli-Palestinian conflict in the 80s. The story features two teengers as main characters, both attending a school that aims to promote unity between the two nations. This seems like a story to look forward to! Congrats on botd.

Operation Olive Tree by Jemil Metti is a historical fiction set in Israel. It outlines the Israel-Palestine conflict. There are themes of racism, abuse, politics, homosexuality, homophobia, death and many more. Characters are very well developed and likeable. Some are very manipulative!

I'm not into political novels that involve strife between two nations, so I have to skip this book for now. It's great that the protagonists have ways to unite because of music. However, unknown to them, there's something more than meets the eye. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Great review. The book affords the readers a chance to learn about the Israel Arab conflict under the guise of historical Fiction. There is a wonderful message here: that peace and love are easily achievable with a change of mindset

I am glad that apart from the book being captivating, it also offers a balanced view of the conflict in the Middle East. As an ardent reader of historical fiction, I am adding it to my shelf.

I have always wondered about the long drawn war between Israel and Palestine. I'm glad I can read a story about it in this book. Great review.

I like how Irith and Jamal cared about each other even though there's a political turmoil between their countries. It's interesting to know if they can bring unity to their people through music. Thanks for the great review!

I'm not fond of historical fiction, but I'm sure other readers will appreciate a story about a friendship that seeks to overcome their differences. Congratulations on BOTD!
