I absolutely adore strong, independent woman, who will not be dictated by society on how to behave and live their lives. I cannot wait to read this book. I have a feeling that I am going to love every page. Thank you for the review and recommendation.

I love stories about strong women and the fact this is based on fact makes it even more interesting. it was unusual for women to question their lives in the 1800's and Baby Doe Tabor sounds like an unusual character. Thank you for the great review!

I love historical fiction based on real people & events. I've become interested in westerns during this time period, so I'm looking forward to reading this!

I haven't heard of Baby Doe till now. I am so keen to know about her story. I would like to know how she embraced herself in her terrible situations.

Elizabeth took a great risk in following Harvey to a different location. I will say Harvey never did well by abandoning Elizabeth when she needed him the most. I'll love to find out how it ended, nice review. Congratulations on BOTD.

I am not a fan of books that are similar to aura based on westerns. However, I love that this narrative has a strong, female lead. Congratulations on book of the day!

I always love when fiction books have a little bit of a true story. The heroine seems like a remarkable woman.

I enjoy and always look forward to reading books with lead female roles. Elizabeth is a resilient woman for sure. I love that she was determined to get what she deserved and was not afraid of what the society would say. Thank you for your review

Rebecca Rosenberg seems very skilled in her research and presentation of real story of Baby Doe of the 1800s. I admire people like Baby Doe who stand their ground in terms of own rights and financial security and work hard to make a honest living. I like to read this book. You have written the review so well. Congratulations on the BOTD!

This well-researched and inspiring book follows the life of Baby Doe and her quest to survive adversaries in the 1800s. I especially find it shocking to see how few rights women had in that time period and yet, the protagonist paved the way to do things that made her a pariah in that time but a role model in today's terms. Congrats on the BOTD!

Thank you for your review. This sounds like a wonderful story! I really enjoy books like this - based on a true person with the author's creativity given free rein. Yet another addition to the reading list!
