This novel tells the tumultuous story of the first South African diplomat in the country of Bolivia, who takes us through a wide range of challenges throughout his life such as human trafficking, trafficking drugs, and general corrupt government systems.

I like historical fiction, and the romance part is a plus. It’s heartbreaking to read about the slave trade though. I’ll save this for later. Thanks for your review!

Confessions of a Llama by Patrick Ntsime sounds really interesting. I studied about trans-atlantic trade but there's things I didn't know until I came across this book. For that single reason, I will consider reading this intriguing book. Congratulations to the author on the BOTD. Great review.
Books are beautiful.

I'm not into historical fiction, but this novel seems quite unique with an interesting setting used to develop a story that addressed really tough themes.

I love the theme of this book and most importantly love how it's based in South Africa.

[bco=][/bco]Wonderful review! I will pass on this one as this is really not my cup of tea. Even though it is also interesting but I want to stave away from the sadness that is our world.

Thank you for the wonderful review! I've added today's BOTD to my WTR list.

Today's BOTD, which is categorized as a fictional autobiography, has elements of history, romance, and adventure. The heavy and emotional content is lightened by the descriptive scenes and the author's ability to effortlessly weave in themes that focus on friendship and love. Thank you again for the amazing review! :-)

Hm, sounds interesting but as I'm not quite a fan of reading about horrific situations I'll pass. This time. I think this is something that would be valuable for me to read, but I'm not up to it quite yet.

The servitude case is heartbreaking. The Silver mines of Potosi sound like death camps. The violation of human rights by the Spanish masters is outrageous. Thanks for an amazing review. Congratulations BOTD.

Human trafficking is such a terrible blight on the history of mankind. It’s always fascinating to read how people subjected to this horror coped with it. Thanks for the review, InStoree. :techie-studyingbrown:

A nice story of Mr. Motara who was South Africa’s first diplomat to Bolivia is presented in the book "Confessions of a Llama" by Patrick Ntsime. A good thing is that it sheds light on the history of Trans-Atlantic slave trade and the suffering of the mine workers, which makes it appealing to read.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
