Not "having an imperialist mindset," I think I'll stay away from this book. I hope recent events in India around the citizenship question don't lure too many into reading this flawed novel. And thanks for pointing out all the mistakes; I would not have known.

Don't know what makes them so confident. Hope they realize that being an author doesn't give you a license to fabricate lies.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my review rumik☺

Am hoping that too. It's better to be uninformed than to be misinformed.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my review, Juliet☺.

You wrote a very thorough and informative review which totally supports your criticism. I get very frustrated with authors who write books about other countries and spread misleading information about them, especially if countries of the Global South are in the equation. It's just something I cannot deal with. I loved how you handled critiquing this book - and thanks for clarifying the historical information that the author mixed up!

I agree with you espo. Such novels and authors are downright annoying. Hope they realize that being an author doesn't give them right to publish lies.
Thanks a lot for taking time to read my review and appreciating it☺.
