Drawing connections between the Egyptian people of 1350, and us in 2021 is so interesting! I love historical fiction. This sounds like an interesting book. Thanks for the great review!

I agree with the book reviewer that historical fiction can be dry and boring at times, but the sample I read seemed to tell a rich and interesting story worth reading!

I think that I should start to look for historical fiction novels to read since the books from this genre that I have read about are very engaging. I am always interested in history, but ancient history is particularly fun to read about because of how many technological advances that occurred. I like that the author blended the history of Akhenaten who caused chaos in the Egyptian kingdom and the story of Lord Hani.

This seems like an extremely interesting book. I really enjoy historical fiction and this fits the bill. I like that the author included the list of characters with their relationship and the glossaries. It should make reading this novel so much more enjoyable.

I have always loved historical fiction, and have never before come across a story that tries to tackle this time period. Reading the history on its own can be very black-and-white, detached, and potentially boring. However, N.L. Holmes paints a picture of Egypt under Akhenaten’s rule that is emotionally devastating. Lord Hani’s relationship with his family is one of the most genuine and heart-warming that I have seen portrayed, and the author beautifully captures the familial drama that can unfold when everything you have ever known is forced to change.

Isn't it impressive that we can still relate to the struggles of a family that lived in a culture and time so different from ours? Some authors work that magic. I think, too, that historical fiction is one of the best ways to learn history.
Thank you for your analytical review.

I'd love to add this historical novel to my reading list. I'm anxious to find out if Lord Hani solves the murder mystery amidst all the political turmoil created by Akhenaten's rule. Thanks for your review!

Today's BOTD is a novel set in Ancient Egypt, 1350 B.C. It's filled with descriptive scenes, well-developed characters, and easy-to-understand dialogue. With a full-star rating, how could I turn this one down? I can't! It sounds perfect for fans of historical fiction. Thank you for the recommendation and the wonderful review! :-)

This sound so like a fascinating historical fiction novel. The setting is a time when Egypt was in chaos. The comparisons between Egyptians then, and us now sounds really interesting. Thanks for a great review.
