I love Scotland and its rich history. Archie's story, infused with Scottish history, is a gold mine for me. The rich narrative used by the author is another positive since I know it will keep me from being bored.

The Douglas Bastard: A Historical Novel of Scotland (The Black Douglas Trilogy Book 4) by J R Tomlin carries a story of grit and resilience. Despite the unfortunate event of loss, Douglas persevered.

In "The Douglas Bastard: A Historical Novel of Scotland" by J R Tomlin, young Archibald Douglas's journey resonates with many of us. His determination to become a fearless knight like his father, despite the betrayals, discrimination, and conflicts of war and family, is a story we can all find inspiration in. I'm rooting for Archie. Thank you for the insightful review. This book honestly sounds like a winner.

Set in war-torn medieval Scotland, today's BOTD follows Archibald, the illegitimate son of the Black Douglas, as he fights to rise above his birthright and prove himself as a knight. Readers of historical fiction will find this to be engaging and well-written. Thank you so much for the helpful review; I've downloaded my copy! :-)

Sounds like a very interesting story, taking place in the world of medieval Scotland amidst dangerous conflicts. The characters are well-developed and twist and turns hold intrigue and entertain readers on the path of Archibald's life. But then again, nothing less to expect from any of Tomlin's creations! Thanks for gifting the book and congrats with BOTD!

The review was enlightening, as it provided great details on the book without releasing any spoilers, keeping the curiosity and suspense of any susceptible reader intact. However, it felt repetitive and could have been done in five sentences and three paragraphs. Nonetheless, it was a good exposé.

'Official Review: The Douglas Bastard: A Historical Novel of Scotland (The Back Douglas Trilogy Book 4) by J. R. Tomlin provides a clear concept of historical fiction's plot. It sketches out the protagonist's character. This is the story of an orphan named Archibald Douglas, whose determination would push him to be the best. He was called a bastard. Archie wanted to become a knight like his father. Nice to learn that the book is recommended to readers who love reading adventure and thriller books!

J R Tomlin's book The Douglas Bastard: A Historical Novel of Scotland (The Black Douglas Trilogy Book 4) tells the story of Archibald Douglas, a young lad. Then his family departed from Scotland to France when he was three years old, and he returned six years later. He was also referred to as a bastard. Despite his pain, he was adamant about becoming a knight like his father, and he begins as a "page" with King David's assistance. Then he travels to Scotland with Sir William, his older relative.

Archie loses his mother, is judged by his lineage and faces constant challenges but instead of giving up he grows with every blow he receives.❤️‍🔥
