This is absolutely NOT the type of book I would normally be attracted to, but your review makes it's sound like this would be a great read--thank you!! And since you mentioned that this is the second book in a series, I would most likely get a copy of the first in the series and start at the beginning. A good thing to find in a review.

After reading the description, happily downloading generously free book and the first couple of chapters I have only one dissatisfaction - why you didn't start with book 1? Because as I see, "The Empire of Israel" series is unique and interesting setting providing readers with action packed plots of wars, history, politics and courting. Good writing style and language are definite bonus! Congrats on BOTD!

I don't feel like this book is for me but I appreciate that the author was able to put together a great story based on the Bible, plus it looks like it was amazingly written.

I'm not a fan of biblically-themed books. So I don't think this is a book I'd enjoy. However, the review sums it up in the most dramatic way possible, makinge want to re-read the story of David, which might I add, is very interesting. I would definitely recommend this book to lovers of religious books and non fiction as it puts a dramatic and interesting spin on David's life in a way.

It sounds like you loved this book and wrote a great review! The Bible is rich with stories of adventure, war, intrigue, friendships, and more. The author made an excellent choice to base his historical fiction on the life of David.

Oh my!  I am a huge fan of King David's story. I've always loved this story since I was a child. This is a really refreshing piece of work by Joseph Ganci. It is easy to love David, and it is easy to ignore the struggles and hardships before he became King. I finished the books of 1st and 2nd Samuel, and I was stunned by the story of King David. He didn't just earn the title "the man after God's heart" because he was young or faithful. In my opinion, he earned that title due to his obedience to God. Thank you for such an amazing review.
