For action and adventure fans, this fiction book follows the life of an archaeologist named Antosha Scarlett. Why is she attacked by an assassin? Why is she invited to the Lost City where tragedy has already struck her family? Which magical powers are involved? Read more to find out! Excellent book review!

As a fan of action-adventure novels, this book goes straight to my bookshelf. The archaeological aspect is what I will also like to explore in it. Nice review.

My favorite type of adventure! The epic quest to find a lost world, city, treasure or magic - I will gladly accept any mission to follow characters. I dreamed as a child of becoming an archaeologist and this love never faded. Starting from Indiana Jones and Benjamin Gates, I will watch and read anything on this subject, especially this highly recommended. Congratulations on BOTD!

The book was written in simple, easy-to-understand language. I liked the pacing of the book; even with its relatively longer length, it never felt dull or tiring. Each chapter pushed the plot forward in some manner or form. I loved the dialogue between the characters :techie-studyingbrown:

I would not have expected for a book called Not What Meets the Eye would be about adventure and danger. Truly surprised. And the fact she's an archaeologist just adds more to the surprise. Wonderful review.

I will read "Not What Meets the Eye" by Matrika Hay to know why Antosha was attacked by assassins after returning from the expedition. Thanks for the review.

The storyline and the way the book was written forces you to keep on reading. I thought that the way the second chapter was linked to the first and second was very clever, where the captain says her full name.

Just being back from a visit to Mexico and having seen the ancient Mayan cities, this book cover caught my eye immediately. But maybe 700 pages might be a bit too many for me.
