Readers of genre, as well as those who enjoy themes surrounding morality, fate, and power should download this one today. Thanks for the helpful review; I've downloaded my copy. :-)

Definitely not my cup of tea, because I was never all that interested in oriental history, even though I was immensely impressed with the Great Wall of China, I don't want to know behind the scenes of its construction. It is enough to know they are still capable of similar achievements considering ongoing green desert and solar energy projects.

Interesting. This book is a great recommendation for history enthusiasts. I don't know much about Chinese history. I'd love to read the story behind the construction of the Great Wall. Conceal the emperor's death? What a big deal. Thank you for your wonderful review.

This novel tells a story of absolute secrecy, treachery and deceit. The stories of these emperors are of historic importance, and this book does a good job at preserving such histories. I'm sure it would bring enlightenment to readers who are interested in Chinese history and culture.

Great review! This book sounds interesting and exciting, but complicated. This is not usually the kind of book that I read, so I will pass on this one. Thanks for the review!

I love stories that blend history and drama; this one is set in China long ago; what does this read contain about several aspects of life? What can it teach me or remind me of about life?

This review is very detailed, which is a good thing. It is most certainly captivating! Hiding a rotten corpse??? And the fact that they witnessed the death makes me wonder if one of them brought it about! I sampled the book and your statement about the chapters opening with a list of characters so the reader doesn’t get confused is the first thing I noticed. It also tells you where it is set. I found that helpful in the little bit I did read. I am not familiar with much of Chinese history, so this seems to be an interesting presentation of the information. Anyway, great review! Definitely makes people want to read it!

This novel is based on a critical period in ancient China where ambition and lies were the order of the day. With an interesting narrative, we enter that ancient era thanks to the impeccable description of the settings and we see how this story develops. An excellent reading option, good work. #BOTD
