This novel is the second book in the series. It is set in the early months of World War I. It is interesting how Prince Faisal's storyline intersects with that of Evan Sinclair, who does not remember who he is. Sounds appealing!

Although it’s the second in a series I like that “Crossroads of Empire” by Michael J Cooper works as a stand-alone novel. It sounds like the author does a great job weaving together 3 intriguing plotlines into a story that flows well. I can see how the chronological structuring would benefit the readers experience when tackling historical event of this magnitude.

Thank you for this detailed and insightful review! I appreciate how you highlighted the book's well-structured storytelling and its ability to weave multiple plotlines together without causing confusion. The historical setting, especially Prince Faisal’s struggle for independence and the political maneuverings of Kaiser Wilhelm, sounds fascinating. I also find it interesting that the protagonist, Evan Sinclair, embarks on a journey of self-discovery, which adds another compelling layer to the narrative. Your mention of the book’s chronological arrangement enhancing its readability is helpful, as historical fiction can sometimes be complex. The oversight with Chapter 13 is an interesting detail—I wonder if the author intended it or if it was truly an error. Either way, your review makes me want to check out Crossroads of Empire and perhaps its predecessor, Wages of Empire, as well!

I find your review helpful. Between it and the sample I read, I would love to read the entire book. I must disagree with you on grammar/editing, as there was a big mistake very early on. I seriously doubt that Clive and his son were advised by their obstetrician to do anything. I found a few smaller errors, but they weren't enough to distract from the story, unless you're really hung up on grammar and punctuation.

I'm not sure if I will get to read the whole book, but I believe I would recommend it to my history loving friends.

"Crossroads of Empire" by Michael J Cooper is a historical fiction set in the period of the very beginning of World War 1. The Arabs seek independence from the Ottoman Empire, but they trust the British the most.

Sounds like a very well-researched historical fiction. The author did a great job with this book. an interesting historical perspective of the Arab and Ottoman Empire. Books about war aren't my cup of tea. So I'll most likely pass this one. Wonderful review.

'Official Review: Crossroads of Empire' by Michael J. Cooper provides useful information related to historical fiction. It guides readers through the engaging plot of the story. This story is about the Arabs' efforts to gain independence from the Ottoman Empire in the early months of the First World War. Prince Faisal fights to secure independence for his people. Another aspect of the plot is about Evan Sinclair, who lost his memories after being the sole survivor of a shipwreck. A third aspect of the story is about Kaiser Wilhelm's vested interest in the Middle East and how he tries to keep America from entering the war. It was great to learn that the storytelling is exquisite!

I read the sample of the book Th Crossroads by Michael J Cooper. In this sample it mainly follows the Sinclair family. Clive, the father goes through heartbreak after heartbreak. He loses a child and his wife to a miscarriage and his son is presumably lost at sea trying to come home after being wounded in the war. I felt really sad for this family as they face tragedies. There are some other parts that don't really tie but I assume it does later in the book.

The review makes the book look interesting. The reviewer's style is well detailed.
Multiple story lines that seem like if each one of them tells its own story. What drives curiosity to know if there is a point of convergence at the end? The lack of sudden time transitions between events also is great. Congrats on BOTD

This review does a fantastic job of capturing the strengths of Crossroads of Empire. The praise for its structured storytelling, historical depth, and seamless multiple narratives makes it clear that this is a well-crafted book. The mention of the minor editing oversight is fair but doesn’t overshadow the overall enjoyment. A well-balanced, engaging review!

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. Evan lost at sea, a gruesome poisoning, and a scientist trying to make acetone, an ingredient for ammunition, with American maize, wheat, and rice is corresponding with Churchill. Congrats to the author for the #BOTD.
