That is interesting that the author can bring out the Aussie and British dialects in the book's characters. I like the new vocabulary that he adds from different languages. One new word for me that I noticed in the sample was "bailiwick."

I haven't read the first books but they all sound interesting. This book seems particularly action-packed with murder and robbery. I especially like how developed the characters are.

You seem to have really enjoyed this one, and as it has achieved a perfect score, I'm sure it must be worth a closer look. It's such a bonus when the different books in a trilogy can stand on their own merit, so I may be tempted to read more of this one. Thank you for a great review.

Thanks for the review. It sounds like a great read and I'm glad it can stand on its own. I would likely start with the 1st book as I'm a purist in that regard, but I may put it on my list.

First thing first. Thank you for insightful review. 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻

In the OnlineBookClub platform, the Warramunga trilogy has received high acclaim. Although it's not my cup of tea. I usually avoid action-packed novels. It's nice to know from your review that the third installment in the series can be read as a standalone. Maybe I will try reading it. 💐💐

Congrats on being BOTD 💐💐👍🏻👍🏻

An action-packed historical adventure that includes kdnapping, theft, and murder. Though it’s the third of a series, it can stand on its own.

I love when books show accents off well! This sounds like an interesting read for some people, but probably not for me. I don't tend to like books about rescue missions.

Thanks for the lovely review, but I'm no more interested in this Warramunga tale than I was in the first two books due to my dislike of historical fiction as well as the locations in these books (Malaya in this one). The plot for this one in particular doesn't really grip me either.

The plot doesn't really appeal to me, to be honest.
However, I think your review is excellent. You mentioned all the strong assets of the book, and I appreciate that you took the time to call out the racist term you found, as well as mentioning if the plot is graphic or includes profanity. These things don't bother me particularly but I think they can be quite important for some readers.

Sounds like an interesting read with the thrilling adventures and the mix of different cultures. I'm excited about this book even if I haven't read the previous two books of the series.

I found the sample of the book quite interesting and that, coupled with your review, makes me want to read it. Historical fiction is not usually my cup of tea, but this one sounds great. Thanks for the review!

Not a fan of historical fiction so I added to my not interested in reading shelf. The kidnapping and action-packed thriller seems like a book that is hard to put down for those that appreciate this genre.

I thought that this book sounded familiar because I remember reading about the first book in this series. I have to commend the author for writing a trilogy set in the World War II era in countries that were near the fighting. I like the use of different characters from different backgrounds especially those who are indigenous. I love the cover art too and it automatically makes me think of Southeast Asia.

I sampled the first few pages of the book. The story begins with the kidnapping of Colonel Johnny Cook by the bandits in the jungle of Malaya. The description of the scene is intriguing. As mentioned in the review by Cecilia_L, this book would be loved by readers of action adventures and historical fiction. Cheers :) :)
