This sounds like an interesting story. Too bad about the errors that could have been caught by additional editing. Great review

Thank you for such an insightful review! Very helpful and well-written!

Today's historical fiction BOTD is a novel about family, love, and the choices we make. Sounds interesting!! A strong female protagonist, a bit of romance, and a few twists and turns make this one a winner to me! Thanks again!! :-)

The story of Beth sounds like an interesting one. Growing up with so many challenges. Nice review.
Insofar as the word 'should' even has meaning, then we must say that the past is exactly as it should be, everything that happened should have happened, and everything that should happen will happen

Thank you for your review. The book sounds interesting but the fact that you mentioned that it’s not action packed did in fact put me off from reading it. I do have the sample in my kindle and I’ll read it and see if I like how it begins.

Wonderful review. The book sounds interesting. I am fascinated by Beth's strength, choosing to have a positive view of life when everything seemed to work against her. Congrats on being the BOTD.

A Nun and the Reverend father? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? But Beth has been through so much travail. I would love to find out how this goes.

I love historical fiction and books with strong female protagonists. "Deceitful Survival" seems to skillfully blend both elements. I'm curious about Beth's life journey and her forbidden relationship with Rene. Thanks for an interesting review!

Deceitful Survival by LC Lee sounds really interesting. The storyline of the book is on another level. I really feel for Beth, being a nun should be out of heart and not by force. Congratulations to the author on the BOTD. Great review.

I think it's intriguing that the novel is based on a true story. I don't really hold it against them for breaking their vows. She only became a nun, after all, because she had no-where else to turn, not because she had a spiritual calling. Rene, at the moment, since I haven't yet read the book, is an enigma. I may have to give this one a look. Excellent and thorough review!

An historical fiction novel that is quite thrilling with a strong heroin that went through so much and still came out standing tall.
