I love historical fiction and romance novels. I wonder what happened to the lieutenant. I want to know if she was able to use her profession as a doctor. I am excited to read this. Thanks for your review.

This is a story about a young fearless woman in the late 1890’s and her adventurous love story. Congratulations BOTD!

Historical fiction is so fascinating! Too bad this book turned out to be predictable--I love reading a book and thinking I know all the answers only to be thrown for a loop by an unbelievable plot twist. In any case, thanks for the great review!

I agree with you that sometimes analepsis and prolepsis work well when done in moderation, but I guess there was too much of it. It's also unfortunate that it's rather clichéd, although I definitely appreciate that there still has been a rather decent description of the historical setting. Thanks for the review.

"Not the Same Water"great title the story is well edited,it is very hard to bear, when you passed several days with out hear from the person you love.
You begin to question yourself without be able to give an answer appropriate,i think that this novel describe the story of several persons who find them in the same situation like Becky.like the reviewer"I want to congratulate the author for offering an intriguing glimpse into the life of times before modern technology".
Great review,thank you.

I enjoyed reading the sample of this historical fiction novel. The historical events in this novel are not something I am familiar yet so it felt like it might be a good read. Thanks for the concise review, a story that may be predictable is unfortunate, but I may consider it in the future.

It's interesting to get an idea of what life was like in 1890. From what I can see, women didn't have many opportunities. This historical romance novel shows how the protagonist confronted these adverse situations of the moment to achieve her dream of being a doctor. What I don't like is that the plot is predictable.

This looks like an intriguing historical fiction novel. I appreciate that very much but the elements of romance in the novel are not my cup of tea. Overall good review.

Sounds like a nice and easy read, with some good fluff thrown in. I love the Laura Ingalls Wilder books, so when I read "Lake Pepin" in your review, I wanted to read the book. I'm on the fence though since it is so predictable.

I truly appreciate your review since it helps us know what we're getting ourselves into if we pick up the book. I still may pass it by, but you piqued my interest even more than the preview did.

Historicals intrigue me because I like knowing how things happened in the past without modern technology but then, a book a person can predict the outcome isn't that interesting. Thanks for an honest review.

This one will be a favorite for historical fiction lovers. The main character sounds fiercely independent, and I like that she isn't afraid to go on adventures without a male, in a time where it was unheard of. This book is bound to be a thrilling ride for readers. A shipwreck sounds both horrifying and action-packed. Thanks for the lovely review.

I enjoy historical fiction and immersing myself in a story surrounded by facts. However, I feel cheated when I encounter predictable plots, so I may pass on this one - thanks for this candid review.
