An interesting peak into prohibition era USA and Chicago's immigrant dominated mafias. Unorthodox healing is an interesting topic brought forth in the book. Faith healing and unorthodox healing are a part and parcel of most societies. Recommended for the immigrant societies of USA.

This book sounds interesting. There is a mystery about the tavern called The corner. I will love to read the book to know what happened to Auggie and Joey that went missing. This is an excellent review.

I don't read a lot of historical fiction, but the description of this book has piqued my curiosity. I want to know what is going on in that tavern and the reason behind people going missing. I wonder if it's supernatural causes or someone is making them disappear. I love a good mystery, so I'll be checking it out.

Books that have to do with mysteries aren't my favorite at all but your review made me interested in reading this book. Nice review.

The story does sound interesting, and I do enjoy historical books. There are some elements described in this review though that make me question if this book is well suited for me. It sounds like the sisters though have an interesting life and go through some unique challenges along the way. I am not sure if this book is for me, but I will keep an open mind to it.

Historical mysteries are my favorite. I think it's mostly because of the way things were so unsafe, mysterious and so superstitious back then, story lines like this fit with that time space I just downloaded the piece on Amazon and I can't wait to get to it!!

I love a good historical fiction and this one piqued my interest. The mystery surrounding the ownership of this tavern and their disappearance and the historical setup around prohibition gives me something to look forward to while reading. Great BOTD. Thank you for your great review.
