This book would certainly be thrilling for baseball fanatics, and it has some interesting elements for people not into baseball. A good overall book. Great review!

Although I am not a big baseball fan, I do enjoy reading historical fiction. The characters sound like a strong element to the story, and even though I don’t know much about baseball, it’s hard not to know the names of the baseball legends mentioned.

This sounds like a wonderful story and I must finish it, this will go on my shortlist as it deals with everyday stuff. I would love to see Marshall prove his father wrong. This is a great review, thank you.

I like reading historical books, and I think I would enjoy this one. The themes in this book seem to me like this book would have so much drama. Your review was nice.

Thank you for your thorough review. Although I'm not a fan of baseball, I would still give this book a go to see how Marshall Elliot and other characters progress. The first-person narrative style from multiple perspectives sounds like an engaging storytelling technique.

Very good review. I felt saddened reading the sample. It told of an unaffectionate father trying to live his dream through his son; mercilessly pushing him to be what he himself never was. Though I am not a fan of baseball, this book teaches us several life lessons. The plot is strong with firm characters. Congrats to the author on your work being selected for book of the day.

This is a book that revolves around 11-year-old Marshall Elliot, who always strives to get his father's attention and approval. Congratulations BOTD!

Of all the team sports, baseball is my favorite. This historical fiction based on two iconic baseball figures sounds quite interesting. It has been added to my reading list and library. Great review!

I love reading historical fiction though I'm not a fan of baseball. I also find the characters fascinating, especially Marshall and his relationship with his father.

Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle are trying to beat the season's record of 60 home runs. A perfect book for base ball lovers, especially for the Yankees fans. Nice review.

What a great storyline and plot. It’s almost sad that this child has such a horrible family life. It is amazing that he gets to meet some famous baseball players. Great Review!

It sounds like an interesting book but I'm not much of a baseball fan.
