Jack is willing to make any sacrifice to bring back home his missing stepmother. I hope he succeeds despite the war-torn terrain he has to travel in. III love to read this book. Thanks for the review.

The characters, touches of humor, and depth of feelings in many of the characters. However, the severe profanities and violence make it suitable only . I found myself enjoying that element on occasion

Though a work of fiction, this looks like a book that will provide more insight into Nez Perce war that happened in 1877. I enjoyed reading your review

This is a wonderful historical fiction story, the tactic adopted by the author makes it intriguing, I hope to enjoy it with the gruesome scenes, massacres, and violence illustrated in the story. Nice review.

Judging by the review of this book, this seems to be a well-written historical fiction; accurately depicted story based on true history, good character development, skillful narrative. Congratulations on the book of the day.

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to be with Jack Peniel in his journey; how his life changes as he faced the challenges along the way. The review mentioned his character development along the journey and I would like to witness that. Also I’m intrigued with the title; how the bone necklace relate to him is interesting.

Based out on the Indian wars, this book is about jack's endeavour to bring back Sally. A humorous yet violent approach with an American West flavour perfectly balanced. The characterisation were nicely detailed with certain digs of humour. The various scenes of the war was perfectly structured from jacks point of view. This book is a nice perspective of the life during the Indian wars.

This is an in-depth review, the book seems quite interesting for an historical fictitious book. It has the correct blend of humor, suspense and many other themes with jake as the major character

This seems like a novel that will incorporate a lot of humor. Jack Penial also seems like an interesting character. I'm not much of a historical fiction fan, but I'm open to reading this.

Thank you so much for the in-depth review. I had already decided the sample was intriguing enough to make me curious about the rest of the story, but your review has finalized this. I love stories set in the old west, and mixed with all the action, makes this a perfect fit for me.

I am not a fan of historical fiction novels. The Indian Wars were brutal and the loss of innocent lives was astronomical. As a Native American, I am biased against the senseless treaty violations enacted during that time era.

It seems to have several attractive aspects such as the excellent development of the characters, touches of humor, and depth of feelings in many of the characters. A really good read for me.

The ability to deliver the back story without it feeling overwhelming or detracting from the story is a winner here. An interesting piece of historical fiction of an era/location I’ve not read about before.

In just the first few chapters, I was aware of a lifetime of history belonging to Jack Peniel. It was so effortlessly woven into the storyline that it never felt like too much information.
Thanks for your excellent review. Sullivan sounds like a very skilled storyteller who gives depth to her characters. This is important in historical fiction. I would like to see what happens to Jack Peniel and know more about this era in American history.

I like a well-written and suspenseful packed historical-fiction. But the war based story is not my cup of tea. Even though this book includes humor, I couldn't tolerance the severe profanities and violences. Also the numerous and lengthly battle scenes would adding my anxiety. Excellent review!
