I read the excellent review and sample of “Saving KC” by Grinnell Desjarlais and have decided to purchase the book. The trauma suffered by Kelly and the difficulty he endured on returning to civillian life was immense. I have yet to read about the romanticism between Kelly and Rita and look forward to reading the remainder of the book. Congrats on BOTD.

The book seems interesting though I'm not sure it is for me. There is mention of war events, description of Kelly's captivity, then his rescue and his subsequent rehabilitation both physical and emotional - that is to much for me. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader and I'm glad that Kelly found love love again that changed his life greatly. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I do enjoy romantic tales and Kelly story seems to be exceptional since it shows all the ups and down he went through from finding love, loosing it in the process after going MIA, experiencing torture that left him tramautized and also finding love again that gave him a new hope after everything seemed to be lost and over.

I am not sure why this book was labeled as historical fiction, because from the description of the storyline, it sounds like a pure romance novel to me. And that is one of the two main reasons I would prefer to pass this book, since I really dislike the genre and also avoid everything related to the military and its operations. Apologies and congratulations on BOTD!

The narrative takes readers through Kelly's dreams, love, and the challenges he faces, especially after experiencing dark times during his military service. The story delves into the aftermath of his traumatic experiences, highlighting his struggles with trauma, abuse, and a near-fatal drinking problem. The introduction of a newfound love suggests a journey of healing and transformation for the protagonist. Overall, the book appears to offer a poignant exploration of love, resilience, and overcoming life's adversities.

Just the thought that not just one but hundreds of people who've put their lives on the line must be experiencing this sort of life sparks interest in me.

I'm not keen on reading romance at the moment. But I'm curious about the book as it potentially reflects the lives of many soldiers across the planet.

This novel is absolutely a captivating novel I have read. You'll come across Kelly, an ambitious young boy for an awesome life. However, he joined army and was captivated, though he was found but to regain himself from his trauma was a lot. It's a well detailed one and I love this review. Congrats on BOTD!

Based on your review and the sample pages I think I would find "Saving KC" by Grinnell Desjarlais a challenging story to read. I am drawn to reading the story because of the courage and will to survive that Kelly must seek out from within himself to rebuild his life. I appreciate your well-written review because you write about how the author has written an exceptional story about this inner journey.
Thank you & Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

An initial novel, exploring PTSD and anorexia with a pure and gripping detail of humaneness. The characters, including the two KCs, are well portrayed, each contributing a unique element to the story. The writing style is fairly conversational, just like a discussion with a confidant. The storyline is emotionally apt. A truly captivating experience that left me enthralled! A fantastic book.!

Your review is beautiful and gives an insight as to what to expect. The novel's resolution is ultimately satisfying and hopeful, and the reader is left with a sense of optimism and possibility. The message of redemption, love, and the power of the human spirit is deeply moving and uplifting.

I am awfully picky when it comes to romance novels, but on the other hand, I love war-related stories. Kelly sounds like an interesting character, and I am happy to hear he found love again despite his war traumas. I think I have to read this book to find out how he managed to deal with the effects his war experiences had on him. Thank you for the captivating review!

Saving KC tends to focus on the importance of love, describing it as a mineral or nutrient that is essential to human health and that, insufficient in a person's life, prevents them from functioning at their best in all spheres of life. Love has the ability to bring life back to the damaged and dying soul. Congrats on BOTD.
