Brothers Bound" by Bruce K. Berger. This is interesting book it show emotion from both civilians and military officers. The story how the military group met each other for the first then build a bond by getting to know each other during Vietnam War. When the military group comes back to civilian town it seem the people have own life to live that create this book to be interesting to read.

The book is about war, but more than anything, it's about the scars it leaves on people It's not just blood and fire it's trauma loss but also camaraderie and the desire to move forward.

The PTSD after experiencing a war, whether on the battlefield or even living in that era, is unimaginable for most who haven't experienced it. A huge salute to all those who bore the brunt. Amazing review. I hope this book gives hope to many more survivors.

Yes I agree with the author war isn't good at all even though you won, it's still left some hurt on many people. Some lost their love ones some are even lost everything and even their loved ones and money can't buy lives that are lost

Brothers Bound by Bruce K. Berger shows us that war is never great, and it's so sad what Buck and Hues had to go through. War leaves a lasting impact on so many people in different ways.

I grew up in Detroit. The description of Detroit's grittier side and the character named Hues' description of his street preaching, and the responses he received were spot-on. The bar scene wasn't as realistic, but the firebase description was very good. Hard to get into the story for some reason, perhaps the speech patterns of Buck were off? Or the narrative. I'd be willing to read some more because there seemed to be an authenticity in the locale descriptions.

I'm normally not one that reads war stories but this sounds very interesting. It's sad what the soldiers went through, when in war and in the end their governments can't even look after them, when they broken and mentally ill cause of what they saw and experienced. I'm curious to see how it all unfolds. Thanks for a great review. Congrats on BOTD

People who have had to enlist in the war have lived through different experiences, some more difficult than others. In this book, we are told the story of Buck and Hues, who had different jobs. On one occasion, they find themselves caught in the middle of an attack, resulting in them being prisoners of war. The protagonists go through a series of harsh experiences that describe the treatment they had to endure. An interesting book in the war genre.

“Brothers Bound” is a gritty, emotional story of brotherhood, survival, and redemption. Set against a raw, unforgiving backdrop, it follows two brothers entangled in a dangerous world, forced to rely on each other to make it through. Henderson captures the pain, loyalty, and unbreakable bond that drives them forward. It’s a gripping read that balances action with deep emotional stakes.

"For those who survive, they never really survive" -- I really like this phrase, so true and honest, because you can't take a normal person, put him through the grinder, and expect him to emerge unscathed. The consequences of each war leaving so many out of place in life is proof enough, but we keep fighting nonetheless despite total destruction of property, mentality, and life left behind each time. I will never understand us.
