I have read some books of fictional history and by far this is the best one, the openness of the story is what I really liked, no censored content and any of that boring stuff. Good job on becoming the BOTD, drawing book viewers and readers into a world of faith and survival, in the times of war and persecution.

The novel vividly portrays the resilience of the Waldensian people, who, despite facing severe persecution, continued to spread seeds of reformation.
The book's rich historical context and well-developed characters make it a captivating read for anyone interested in religious history and tales of unwavering faith.

The persecution of Waldensian preachers and believers by the Catholic Chruch raised my interest in learning more about this community and their belief. Intertwining history with fiction provides the right context for an amazing story which the autjor successfully does. I would like to read the novel. Thanks for a wonderful review!

A historical fiction set in Italy that captures the politics that existed amongst different religious sects. It also portrays themes of persecution and courage.

"The Waldensian Martyrs" by Pam Vause is a gripping historical novel that follows the Waldensians' defiance against papal persecution. Through the de Vaux family’s struggles, the story vividly portrays the brutal enforcement of Catholic dominance. With ties to the Medici family, John Wycliffe’s legacy, and Leonardo da Vinci, this tale of faith and resilience is both powerful and compelling.

"Waldensian Martyrs" by Pam Vause is a historical fiction novel that goes back to the 15th century. The story begins in the Italian Alps in the small village of Borgata Cyrus. The residents of this village are believers in Waldensian faith which is a defiance of the persecution by the Pope. Sadly, the papal army has no issues with assassinating the Waldensian dissenters of the Catholic faith. Another situation where religion causes purges and murders. The Pope’s soldiers have no problem killing all dissenters. This is a novel about the de Vaux family and its support for the Waldensian faith. The novel also includes the Medici family, Wycliffe’s reformist legacy and Leonardo da Vinci’s role. The central theme is unwavering faith in God. Devout Roman Catholics may not want to read this book because of the negative portrayal of the church. Being a devout Roman Catholic I still want to read this book since I believe one must have an open mind when reading about church history and the ugliness that occurred during the growth of the Catholic Church. I have added this book to my to-read shelf.

I enjoyed how the book shed light on Christian martyrdom and how the waldneses endured persecution because of their religious beliefs. The book made me want to learn more about the Waldneses and their journey to freedom.

This book gives account of a needless period of martyrdom. While would the Waldensians be martyred when they were teaching the same Bible the Roman Catholic Church was teaching. Or was their Bible different? Maybe the book will reveal.

Not really sure what I think about this book despite my avid love for historical fiction. I do quite sophisticated relationships with religious subjects, and "worldwide dominance of the Roman Catholic Church" didn't have the most positive influence, in my opinion, considering how much bloodshed was sanctioned by them. Then again, it can be said about most religions, so my reluctance to read anything related even remotely is understandable.

The accurate portrayal of the actions the Roman Catholic Church in a fiction novel is certainly intriguing. I like reading stories that are able to provide a view of real events.
