Thank you for your review. I read the sample. President Truman chose a list of people to organize the new CIA after WWII, including General George Marshall. I liked reading about all the characters' living their lives after the war and how surprised they are to be summoned by the president for this important mission.

Will Truman's team be able to upend the last rival? Join 'Wild Bill" Donovan and his crew in this thrilling journey as they tackle the 'Hitler problem'. If you're a fan of historical fiction, 'The Last Rival' by Kyle Palmer is a must-read. Your review indicated your enjoyment of the book, and I appreciate your insights.

This book tells the account of President Truman's approach to solving the Adolf Hitler issue using historical fiction. There comes a time when President Truman must take strong action to address the threats posed by the Nazis under Hitler. In order to carry out a mission code-named "Operation Louveterie," he enlists former OSS agents to build a covert organization. Very good and interesting BOTD.

Truman and his team must deal with Hitler in a much more direct and secretive way than the history books tell us.

Thank yuu for your informative review. I'm glad that you enjoyed it so well. I did think it was written well and liked the author's style of writing. As the historical fiction genre isn't one of my favorites, I will pass, but I hope that many others will enjoy the book. From the sample, it did read as though it was fact not fiction.

The fast-paced narrative and sharp dialogue keep the reader engaged, while exploring counterfactual questions with surprising verisimilitude. A must-read for fans of World War II and political thrillers. I, for one, love these books and dream of seeing them made into a movie.

I am a lover of historical fiction, though I feel like anything after the year 1900 is too modern and is something I personally call "modern historical fiction". :techie-studyingbrown: However, I regret to say that today I was not able to read an excerpt of this book, and that is absolutely necessary with this book. The description is so vague that I had no idea what dangers the characters face. Thankfully I got to read this review by a history buff, so I am more inclined to read this book.

An intriguing fiction novel that focuses on war on Hitler unleashed under President Truman's leadership. I have read a couple of war stories. I am intrigued to see how the author will bring it out.

The Last Rival" by Kyle Palmer is historical story, it's about president planning to face Hitler in their own way, planning the strategy, acting on by understanding the situations. It's about the disciplined way to train themselves to face the issues.

I'm not really a fan of historical fiction but I am curious about Kyle Palmer's take on the events of the war. I may just add The Last Rival to my reading list!
