I love historical fiction. This coupled with the action-packed review has piqued my interest. I'm sure it will be a great read.

The sample pages clearly showed how the action begins right out of the gate with Johnny Cook being kidnapped and he doesn’t know why. It sounds like the author has done a great job in continuing the series. I have read samples of the first two but haven’t taken the time to fully read them. Your review has inspired me to start the series. I just can’t do it out of order. Thanks for the good insight to this.

Thanks for the detailed review. It seems to be an action-packed book with kidnapping, theft, and murder. I am glad to know that this novel can be read as a standalone book as I haven't read the previous instalments from the series.

Stories about kidnapping and murder do not interest me. However, the review is a good one.

I like the well developed characters of this historical fantasy. The intriguing story would make the reader to search for the previous two books .

I've never really enjoyed historical fiction, but perhaps this is the book to change that. Your review definitely makes it sound like a gripping read!

This sounds like it may be a good book if you like suspense, action, hunting, and history. However, it just isn't one that appeals to me. I'm not one for people being kidnapped at gunpoint, others being killed, etc.

I was surprised while reading the sample because it was quite entertaining. The description of the characters' surrounding was so vivid that it was easy to visualize it. There were a lot of foreign words used, and one word used was actually similar to the term we use in my own language, Tagalog. Well, I guess it's to be expected since some of our ancestors are actually Malays.

I like the review since it is quite helpful. It has convinced me to consider reading the book. I'm still not sure since this is the third book of a series. In my opinion, this is a well-written review. Thank you, Cecilia_L! :tiphat:

Good review. :tiphat: I have passed on reading the other books in the series mainly due to the name or title of the books. The story sounds intriguing, so I may give the book and the series a go. :techie-reference:

Nothing felt missing in the sample from being a third of a trilogy, and with a name like Warramunga, I can only imagine the history this author has developed.

I was wondering whether the rest of the book was as attention-grabbing as the sample, so thank you for the confirmation. I am also now excited to get to know the diverse cast and dissect the complex plot. I love historical fiction and action as well, so this series may be perfect for me.

I never was in favour for standalone parts of series. You either write full-story trilogy or separate books. So I read Warramunga series in a whole and even though I won't call it my most favorite book of all time it was interesting and entertaining enough to seek other works of current author.

I have read the review of the book Skills of the Warramunga by Greg Kater. It is the story of a cook Johny who is made victim and is kidnapped in the forests of Malaya but is secured from the harm. He is made safe from the
next problems due to his three previous colleagues with which he had worked together in Australia. You have explained it well in a descriptive manner.
