I enjoy historical romance/fiction and this one sounds like it has a good story. I also like books that create vivid imagery and evoke strong emotions. This one will be a great addition to my TBR list!

This is my kind of book. I will definitely check it out. Your review is very informative. Katy sounds like an interesting character and the plot is intriguing.

A book about the World War I, tells how some had to live it and face it, since most of those who were affected lost almost everything and it seems that the war did not bring anything good.
In the case of Katy, the main character, had to struggle with the absence of her husband. It is a recommended book.

This sounds like an incredibly moving and emotional novel. The author goes into themes such as forgiveness in the time of WWI and the effects of war. Congrats on the book of the day! Great review.

The author successfully explored the deeper emotional states of the characters in this tragic, beautiful and thought-provoking story.

This really sounds like a nice book with good enough but not perfect characters and in depth emotions though the grammatical errors is a real disappointment. Good review but I don’t really enjoy war stories so, I’ll pass on reading this. Thanks

Clear cut comprehensive review. Unfortunately again, the book wasn't available for me to download on Amazon which disappointed me greatly. "What did they die for?" is sure to grapple-n-hook anyone into the book. In times of me unable to download, I rely on reviews to give me the movement I need. Touching, moving, interesting and heartaching read it's going to be, what I could decipher from your beautifully woven review. Thank you Delaney35..God blesses you :tiphat:

It's a shame about the lackluster editing, but overall it sounds like an interesting historical drama that follows complex, engaging characters and covers deep themes like love and one's place in the world. World War II is often more prominent than World War I in media, but there are lots of good stories to tell about the latter as well. Thanks for the review!

This historical fiction that follows World War 1 and what its victims died for sounds like a great novel. I like it that the language used is simple but descriptive enough to create a vivid image in the reader’s mind. I understand there are some a little gory content, but I'll give it a try anyway.

Daffodils by Alex Martin seems to be an interesting read that incorporates history, love, and hardship that could leave the reader with a profound feeling.

Delaney35 gives a neat review of Daffodils by Alex Martin. After she mentions the main ideas that are discussed, like setting the frame for the action itself, the reviewer relates the plot, without giving too much detail.
The main character is mentioned and her experiencing various feelings while going through the terrible times of war.
I did not quite understand which the reviewer's "favorite part of the book" was, as it seemed to me that that "part" covered the entire book. But I am sure I shall understand once I have read the book.
Also, I could have identified the readership a little more precisely, I doubt if all over fifteens would enjoy reading this type of novel, which seems to me close to the romance genre. But again, I may be wrong.

I've always wondered. The people representing the sides of the war, what do they think? Better yet what do they want? When they talk, what do they tell each other? Nice book. Nice review.
