Greg Kater's books are usually filled with suspense and intrigue. No doubt, I'm going to enjoy this Conflict on the Yangtze adventure.

Books about war are not among my favorite ones, but I'm sure this particular one will be very interesting for the fans of the genre. Plus Asian background is very attractive :) I liked the suspense part tho. Thank you for a great review!

An action packed historical fiction sounds like a very entertaining read. The story follows the exciting Warramunga’s series. Looking forward to reading it. Thanks for the review.

Another fantastic tome by Greg Kater. I am becoming an ardent fan of his writing. He does a great job with character development and descriptions that draw you into the story. The fact that one get to learn so much history about the setting of the story (Shanghai, Philippines and Australia) is a bonus for me. Thank you for a detailed and informative review.

A book full of action, adventure and suspense. Although, I am not a fan of historical fiction, but this seems like a nice book. Great review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting story concerning post-WWII China and the rise of conflicts between the government and Warlords in a pursuit to discover and stop a smuggling ring on the Yangtze. Well done.

Normally I don’t opt for historical fiction or espionage thrillers, but your review makes this book sound rather appetising with its references to myths and other cultures in Australia, the vivid descriptions of shrines and stuff along the Yangtze River and the other languages used. Sounds like something I’d pick up if in the mood for some armchair travelling.

This is a very comprehensive review of this historical novel that is sure to whet the appetites of lovers of the genre and those who like a good spy, action-packed book. I particularly like the fact that she has managed to pull together the many characters in the various places so that a reader understands what is going on. Just reading the sample made me feel that navigating the themes, characters and plot through heavy conversation or descriptive passages in different locations, would take some effort. The review simplified this for me and made me quite look forward to reading the book.
Well done and thank you.

I have found myself drawn more and more to historical adventure novels. This novels seems to be an interesting read from a different perspective.
