I have mixed emotions on this book. I love historical fiction and enjoy reading about this time period, but the sample reading was disjointed and confusing to follow. I guess I would have to keep reading to understand how the storyline fits in with the history surrounding Pearl Harbor, but I think I will pass on this one for now.

The story of Sister B is a fascinating one and eye catching. I would genuinely say i have not the book but according to the reviews i seem so much interested to read it further.
Sister B is running away from discrimination in search for free and socially appealing society.
In this case David Charles Hart is exposing the negativity of racial discrimination.

'Official Review: Sister B' by David Charles Hart is clear and appealing feedback on the story of a young African American woman leader for readers! It gives a clear picture of the contents of the story in the minds of keen readers! The point that the book gives the readers an idea of history is worth mentioning in the review! Also, the way in which the reviewer explores the issues, the book raises is appreciable for readers! Nice to learn that the book is a great historical novel with a little history and romance thrown in!

Her leaving her son also baffled me. I hope they were reunited later in the story.

I read that during those days, nurses were called sisters, but why was she called Sister B?

I feel the story is quite inspiring as well as sheds light on issues not often talked about in this light. Sister B took some drastic steps and I hope they paid off in the end. Thanks for your awesome review.

I am not a big fan of racially motivated stories. Today, the same racial issues are only present due to people that cannot move past something that was abolished over 100 years ago. What causes a lot of the issues are more cultural than they are racist. I believe all people should be treated equal, but unfortunately that is not something that is happening around the world.

It sounds like Sister B had to deal with a lot of adversity and injustice in her life. How awful that she had to give up her son. Thanks for the informative review.

Thank you for your review. I enjoy historical fiction but this one takes on the topic of racial discrimination which is a present-day, worldwide problem, also. I have read enough about racial discrimination in the United States, perhaps if the novel took place in another country I would be interested. Congratulations on BOTD though!

I found this review straight forward!! The book depicts the struggle strong men and women undergo in a racial society.Indeed elevation requires separation.

An empowering and uplifting story. Sister B's personality is an inspiration to all, especially to those who are up until this time, experiencing racial discrimination.

I have a feeling Akio and sister B share a special bond in this story even though she is working towards being successful she is going to meet a life time companion it sounds like the story is one great story, with a lot of challenges. Good job on the review.

It is always good to know that it's possible to succeed in spite of racial oppression and injustices. It gives hope and encouragement to never give up. This historical fiction book has been added to my reading list. Great review!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction following a young African American woman, who is trying to make a better life for herself and her family, and Japanese man who is facing his own difficulties. The story is set on the eve before Pearl Harbor attack and the US's entrance into WWII. It might be worth a second look. Well done.
