This historical romance novel set during 1890s where the female protagonist achieves her dream as a trauma surgeon amidst bloody conflicts and turmoil sounds compelling. I'm looking forward to reading it. Great review!

Historical romances are not necessarily my cup of tea, so I won't be reading this book. However, Ms. Black's writing style is very fetching as I found from reading the first several pages. I congratulate her on her accomplishment and for receiving BOTD honors.

A fantastic historical romance book "Not the Same Water" by Karen Black, which revolves around Becky, who goes on an exciting day cruise with her best friends without a male escort in the year 1890. Becky comes closer to Bill when he recuses her from a sudden storm. The book looks very much entertaining to me.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

I think the author did a great job creating the characters. First of all, I am thinking of Becky and her ideal of dedication to the medical profession, despite all the limitations that followed the lady at the end of the 19th century.

Usually, I would have been delighted to read historical romance book, but unfortunately even though I am not easily scared this book is related to my only phobia to be caught in the sudden storm at the sea. I would hate to picture myself a visual of it, so I will have to skip this book. Sorry and congrats with BOTD!

Hey, hang on! I grew up in a world without cell phones and the internet and I assure you that I'm not over 130 years old. Seriously though, unlike you, I think I would enjoy the aspects of this novel that require you to double check dates. That's an indicator of a good historical book, fictional though it may be.

Set in 1890, fans of historical fiction and romance will love today's BOTD that tells the story of a brave woman's quest to find both love and success. Although it's not the one for me, the vivid descriptions and well-developed characters do not disappoint. They are sure to keep readers turning pages. Thank you so much for your review and keep up the great work!! :-)

I agree with you that the element of surprise at the end of a book is so important. This sounds like an interesting read though. Thank you for your honest review.

I'm yet to read a romance story that began in the sea and this could not be a more inviting book. Thanks for the review.

For lovers of historical romance novels, especially those taking place in the late 19th century, Black's book looks absolutely amazing.
