Although I love anything that deals with ancient Rome, I am not really into historical romance nor books that talk about any religion.

What a spiritual journey! I think what interests me the most from your review is the fact that this story was inspired by real events from when Christianity started to take root in Rome. Any new idea tends to get resistance from established beliefs, and for that to happen as a background to a murdered daughter makes an interesting read.

Normally I am always up for books in the historical fiction genre, but unfortunately, main subject matters of this current book don't appeal to me. I have little interest in ancient Greco-Roman period or history of Christianity. Apologies, but I will have to pass it, but would like to congratulate the author on BOTD all the same!

The story of Amora is one I look forward to reading. The fact that the story is inspired by true events made it even more appealing and fascinating in addition to being a historical fiction. Your review was so wonderful to read.

Forgiveness and revenge when death is involved sure is a tough call. The plot sounds thick with intense events and thought-provoking twists. I wonder why the tragedy that befell Amora and Leo should cause the latter to grow violent towards his wife; she's suffering too. I don't know if I'll enjoy the read though, but thanks for sharing anyway.

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how Leo and Amora find a way toward each other again with their different take on their daughter’s death. Will her killer be identified and being closure to their painful loss?

I enjoy reading about Roman culture back then. After reading the summary and review I decided to get the book to read. The story sounds great with drama, suspense, and some danger. Look forward to reading thanks to the great review!

This is a very well written review and congratulations on being the book of the day! The plot sounds very intriguing but I don't think this is the book for me. I usually like historical fiction but I think I would struggle with the intensity of the book. Thank you for sharing .

Loss of one’s child leaves a scar and an indescribable pain in the parents. I will love to read this book as i want to know how Amora was able to forgive her daughter’s killer. I also want to know what eventually happened to Leo. Thanks for the review

The review was quite intriguing. The idea of choosing between vengeance and forgiveness seems so easy until you are facing it in person, especially if the decision revolves around the death of a child... I wish to also see the fate of Leo and how the future beyond the book looks like for Amora, Leo and their surviving child. This is probably a book I wouldn't go for on my own as I'm not a huge fan of historical fiction but the depiction of Rome and this review is definitely changing my mind. Can't wait to give it a read.

The book sounds like what would bring tears to one's eyes. What a tragic experience that Amora must have been through.
The twist in life, from a smooth life to isolation.
Forgiveness tends to give courage and hope but unforgiveness leaves one without focus. This work shows the ordeal of a true christian. Sounds interesting and I want to read the book.

The killings of any person for whatever reason is evil. This pain becomes ever more difficult to bear when the death of a love one is involved. To see how Amora bore this book read this book. Thanks for the review.

I love the way how she adores her family's she even cling with her slaves as there were like families. She's a kind hearted person, and she never jump to conclusion too quick as for others they will never dealt with the situation that she's a conscious woman and she will always keep her head up high. She has unconditional love for her children. As old people will say what don't they said don't call it Duppy.
