This book sounds incredible!! I think books like these are what make history so fun. Because we read this and usually also go out of our way to learn the real history.
I am glad such a story is realistic when it comes to the casualties of war. This is definitely a book I would check out.
Though the plot conveniences concern me a little, but I don’t see that as a reason not to pick the book up!

I like historical fiction and this book grabbed my attention. Love the fact there are several drama plots amongst the whole story and 2 main characters to cheer for. Will enjoy reading the book after reading well written review!

Great review. I would love to know more about Hitler since he's very famous whenever war and violence are mentioned.

The book sounds interesting and the real life stories together with references to support the real-life events provided by the author will make it even more interesting and appealing. But historical war fiction is not my cup of tea. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

The sample pages of this book show the author's wonderful writing style and the enormous amount of research that went into this story. I enjoyed the suspense you created by saying that some of the characters you least suspect die in the war. Thanks for the detailed and intriguing recommendation!

Books relating to war are not my thing, but fans of historical fiction surrounding war and espionage should certainly enjoy this intriguing story. Great review.

Thank you for an honest and very well written review. I must say that real life stories, spionage, intelligence and counterintelligence seem like a fun way to read and learn about the wW-II, its great moments, and its devastating ones. Sounds like a great book. I might read it sometime.

After reading the sample, this book just did not keep my interest. I don’t mind historical fiction normally but I found this story boring.

This seems like a fascinating piece of historical fiction set during one of the key periods in the world's recent history but instead of being about big battles it's about the French resistance and its secret operations. Thank you for your great review!

By seeing the book cover, I thought this was a collection of historical facts about World War II, but your review makes it clear that this is actually historical fiction. Thanks for a great review.

The best thing that can happen with a historical novel is to keep it as realistic as possible and let history tell it’s tale. Thank you for your comprehensive analysis of this book. A novel based upon WWII is not something extraordinarily new, yet going by the premise it sounds interesting to know about the way the author has discussed the past history through the eyes of the main characters in the story. Looking forward to read it soon.

When reading the sampler, I wasn’t sure whether this book was fictional. So thanks for the review, it helps clarifying this for me.

While the historical elements included in the chapters make the reading process quite heavy, I agree that they do enrich the plot and character motivations. Actually this style of writing reminds me of D.O.D.O by Neal Stephenson, and I really enjoyed that one.
