Exciting thing for a woman writer, to see adolescence from the point of view of a boy. Good review, but the book is certainly not for me, since I don't understand baseball...

I am not really interested in the baseball aspect of this story, but everyone's growth is very entertaining .

Though I don't like historical fiction stories, this one looks very interesting. It's painful to see your mother being abused. Thanks for the great review.

This book seems like an interesting and entertaining read. The baseball elements included in this book makes it unique. Also, Marshall Elliot seems to be well developed too.
Your review is quite detailed. Thank you.

At 11 I’m surprised his father will be giving him harsh remarks over sports. Feels like I’ll be reading about a horrible father. Elliot seems like a strong boy, watching his father being abusive and all. An inspiring story indeed.

The story revolves around 11-year-old Marshall Elliot, who always strives to get his father's attention and approval. The author does well in incorporating elements of baseball into the story. Her excellent recreation of the suspense at the games was detailed and engaging. Great review; well-throughout and well written.

I feel the pain Marshall is experiencing. Seeking fatherly love and approval that is not anywhere to be found. The characters are really well built in the story. Thanks for the interesting review.

I normally don't read books based on sports, but the plot and an unlikely friendship between the three characters make me curious enough to give this one a chance. That was an awesome review!

Baseball isn't really my thing, however, the manner at which the characters where developed caught my attention, the story line was well delivered and I could also related with the young who was seeking the attention of his father but was disappointed in the long run.

Never been much of a sports fan, so I can't really say I'd be intrigued by a story built around it. The story themes seem nice though.

Though I'm not a fan of baseball, I can tell that this is a good storyline having a blend of fiction and true-life events. I'm sure meeting with the two heroes will have a great impact on Marshall.
