The review provided insightful information. The plot appears captivating, as Rachel's life takes an unexpected turn following her friendship with Jenny. I am excited to explore the book further to learn more about the 'lovebirds' and Rachel's role in their story.

This review provides a detailed overview of the book and highlights its strengths and weaknesses. It mentions the skillful portrayal of historical and societal themes, as well as the author's ability to handle a complex story with many characters. However, it also expresses disappointment with the ending and unanswered questions. Overall, the review is helpful in giving insights into the book's content and the reviewer's experience. It may motivate readers interested in historical fiction and societal themes, but the mixed assessment of the ending might make some hesitant to purchase. Whether it feels like a great read depends on individual preferences and tolerance for unresolved plot elements.

The various perspectives on the 1960s and the Vietnam War are eye-opening.  The book appears to provide several facets to activism and freedom fighting.

Wow! What a well-detailes review. Indeed, most times deal us bad cards and we do not know what to do to get out of those sticky situation. There seem to be a lot going on this book that is going to shine light on how to manoeuvre out of that.

Reading about Rachel's defiance in joining anti-war protests and her unlikely friendship with Jenny amidst the Vietnam War era piques my interest. It's fascinating how the author intertwines personal choices with the larger political and social upheavals of the time.

I enjoyed reading your detailed review, thank you Kirsi. This book piqued my interest in a difficult time in history when the life people took for granted was turned on its head and chaos reigned. Historical fiction always makes for a fascinating and insightful read and based on the review this one is for me. Congrats to the author.

Congrats to the BOTD author! From the review I see the book dates back to Vietnam War era. That will be cool to history lovers. Romance in the book is what can make me give it a try.

I can understand that Rachel's mother would be concerned when her daughter befriended a dope smoking hippy. The culture of free love and drugs would worry any parent. The Vietnam War has been the subject of many books and films. It had a profound impact on many people, soldiers participating and their loved ones. Thank you for the insightful review.

Thank you for a wonderfully detailed review.
This historical fiction sounds so gripping.
I can't help wondering about how Rachel's life unfolded as she faced the bad hand of cards dealt to her. I am also intrigued by how the vast array of characters ties into the story with the challenges faced, due to the impact of the Vietnam war.
Congratulations to the author for putting together 500 pages, with a complex yet clearly narrated plot.

The book sounds pretty interesting with a touch of romance between Lien and Steve but at the same time full of politics, conspiracies and the descriptions of war which are not my cup of tea. Still the times of Vietnam War was a fascinating period of history and a lot of people would love to know more about it. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Rachel decides to participate in the anti-war protests against the Vietnam War, and Steve Tanner is drafted and sent to the Vietnam War. What does fate hold for both of them, and how are they related? This book shows that choices have consequences, and one cannot escape the consequences. The well-crafted narrative grabs my interest, but the abrupt, unsatisfactory ending is a disappointment. That was a nice review.
