The author of this book attempted to recreate the Bible's story of the birth of Jesus. I am looking forward to reading about it. It has a beautiful cover page. Congratulations to the author on winning book of the day.

The historical fiction novel follows the journey of Rassan, a military officer turned apprentice to the Magi. He learns to study the stars to locate the prophesized Messiah. The reviewer highlights the author's diligent research into the significance of the stars in biblical events and the customs and practices of the Eastern Magi during that time.

I am not overly fond of the military as a whole institution, because of the corruption and violence they are prone to. There is so much cruelty and I believe it a bit strange to see historical fiction referring to prophesied heroes and divine blessings. Sorry, but I will have to skip this book and congratulate the author with BOTD!

A wonderful review I must say! The Bible has a lot of stories. Some of them are quite brief and I love how authors pick an aspect and expatiate on it or pick a particular character and regale us with stories about them which are so beautiful and impactful. I would love to read this book. Bible stories are awesome!

This is a very different and creative narrative of the story of the magis. Rassan's journey sounds like one full of adventure. I'll check this book out!

In Magi Apprentice by Dan E. Hendrickson, Rassan, a military officer in the Parthian army, encounters a dying Magi Order member and embarks on a journey to discover the Creator's plans and the birth of a prophesied champion. His new path will lead him to places he never imagined, as long as the power of good triumphs over evil forces. The novel explores the history of the Eastern Magi and their political climate in the Middle East.

A fictional and historical story that tells us about the man of Rasan, the soldier who carries out the mission of preventing the Magi from infiltrating Jerusalem.
This story takes place in ancient historical times, an era full of mystery and adventure in an atmosphere of suspense, betrayal, and constant conflict.
Where Rasan eventually gives up his power and military authority to become a disciple of the Magi, it is actually a historical and fictional book.
I recommend reading this book full of suspense.

"Magi's Apprentice" by Dan E. Hendrickson is a historical fiction novel. Basically the book follows the biblical story of the Eastern Magi but is enriched with a deep understanding of the political relations in the Middle East of that era.

The book seems interesting telling an exciting story of what had happened in the times before Christ. But religious fiction is not my cup of tea, still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Dan Hendrickson is an accomplished writer, but I believe that this is his best work to date. Not only are we treated to a captivating fictional account of the "Wise Men" who traveled to Bethlehem to see Jesus Christ, the author brings his 35 years of Christian ministerial training to bear on the subject. Citing many sources, and providing detailed footnotes, he shows us that God announced the birth of his son in the stars. That is how the Magi were able to find him. All I can say is, "buy the book." You will enjoy a great piece of historical fiction, plus gain an appreciation for the accuracy of the Bible.BOTD

Your review us very informative, Erin. I sampled a few pages, and I too was fascinated by the astronomical aspects of this novel and by the role of stars in the Biblical events.

I enjoy reading historical fiction. Based on your great review, the Biblical historical fiction Magi Apprentice by Dan E. Hendrickson is on my to-read list. I'm particularly intrigued by how Hendrickson brings together many different aspects of Biblical history and creates a multidimensional story. Thanks for the details you've provided in your review.

I'm not typically interested in biblical stories, so this book doesn't interest me despite the fascinating explanations of reading stars. Nonetheless, I hope it reaches its intended audience. Congratulations on BOTD!
