Stories within stories, great characters and a little family history? Sounds interesting enough. Great review by the way. I love that you used a quote from the novel at the start. Thank you!

I once fell from a moving lorry and blacked out; as I read through this awesome review, imaginations were streaming through my head and the question "what if I woke up in 1940s?" was so lively in me. Actually the book reminds me of my grandfather: He was more or less like Bill; telling stories from unexpected angles. Congratulation to the author.

It seems like this book has a beautiful life lesson about paying more attention to our elders' stories about the past. I would give anything to have my grandparents alive to ask them more about their times. At least, I was able to interview my grandmother once about her life during Fidel Castro's revolution.

Thanks for the nice review!

Great review! I don’t usually choose historical fiction to read but this particular book sounds so intriguing and unique that I have to give it a try. The Back to the Future feel also adds to my desire to read this one as it has always been a favorite of mine. Congrats to the author on a terrific review.

A nice read for everyone. I think the story would be good to someone of any age. To experience the way of living by your grandparents? It would be a beauty. And would help someone understand them even better. Thanks for the wonderful review!

This is my type of narrative. Paul Schumacher's The Tattered Box sounds quite intriguing. The grandfather-grandson relationship between Bill and John would later blossom into an interesting friendship between two teenagers. Nice review, Amagine.

I liked the cover very much. It gives you hints about what is all about in the book. I think family is the most important thing in life and knowing your ancestors' history is knowing where you came from and who you are. I can't wait to read the book. Thank you for the review.

I definitely wouldn't want to go back to 1941 like John because of the war, but I like the author's idea for the main character to experience how his grandfather's life was back then. Even though it reminds me of a movie or a book I can't recall anymore, the review promises an extremely well-written story that I probably won't resist reading.
