I enjoyed the sample, and am impressed with the review. One thing that interests me is that the reviewer compares the story to the current Trump administration, but I would have thought a better analogue would have pre-Taliban Afghanistan where as late as the 1960's women were free to wear whatever they liked and were free to study and work as they pleased.

In any case, a controversial and gripping subject delivered well, and the review certainly makes me want to keep reading to see what happens next.

I definitely agree with you that this is a timely book in this time of political unrest, as people in power use it for personal gain and at the expense of others. I'm not a big fan of political fiction, but you wrote an interesting review

In this day and age, a book that will challenge the mind and get the reader to actually think about the events going on around them is critical. Based off of this review, the book itself will shock the reader into investigating the world around them, hopefully for the better.

After reading this review and the preview chapters, I do believe this will be a great read for those who love a good political thriller, especially with the story line relating so closely to current world events. This won't be a read for me, as political reads are hard for me to get into and the sexually explicit scenes would be a downside for me as well. From what I did read and what I've gathered from this review, this will still be a great book to read for many.

The book is interesting as it addresses political issues facing the current societies. It has many themes and I think it would be a good topic for debate. Loved it... I love books that make us realise that we can so easily be held to pay for our decisions when we vote for a position of power. Looks can be deceiving, the electoral system is all but a popularity vote based on predetermined prejudices, and with the right formula, chaos can easily ensue. Whether it be a modern day Trump or a fictional Mohammad Abbas, it sounds like this book preaches the proverbial "be careful what you wish for."

This book is just a fiction of an author that is not in any way knowledgeable about the Sharia. And by the way, it's hijab not hajib. I'm wearing one, as you can see.
