This book brings another perspective on Marilyn Monroe. Your detailed review states that the story is "a historical fiction piece that is nothing short of excellent." I am almost persuaded to read it. I will definitely put it on my 'To Read' list.

I love Marilyn Monroe and feel like I would love this book. I would love to learn more about the actress and also about her relationships. I find it interesting that you mention a mystery in your summary, and I’d love to know more!

I believe that people will still continue to be fascinated with Marilyn Monroe forever because she left such a mark upon popular culture. I love that the story does not follow Marilyn like a typical biography, but it follows the people around her as she completes the film Some Like It Hot. This film is one of my personal favorites and she shines as an actress despite the obstacles that developed during production.

I am looking forward to digging into this one to find out how Penny addressed the difficulties in her life as she works under a very famous star in this fiction novel. Being a plus-size girl seemed to be the focus of this story so this is interesting.

MY FRIEND Marilyn ~ is a Historical Fictional Novel Book which unfolds that the book was not exactly telling the story of Marilyn Monroe, but about a girl who played the role of Marilyn in a contest to be Marilyn's "Girl Friend" while shooting a movie.

It gives a further twists and turn like that of a Cinderella love story, friendship and love.

~ Thanks to the Author

She is a plus-size girl who got lucky and was chosen to be one of Marilyn Monroe’s assistants during the shooting of the film. Her encounter with the beautiful actress changed her life forever.
It will be interesting to know how society, back then, views women's sizes and how the film industry influences their perspectives. Thanks for the insights.

This is a historical fiction with a dose of romance. I find it fascinating that it tells the story of Marilyn Monroe’s assistant. It’s also great that it has well developed characters.

This definitely is a new and creative take on talking about Marilyn Monroe's life. It's interesting that the main character is Penny, her assistant. I'm sure this gives a fresh perspective on the events of that time. Great review!

'Official Review: My Friend Marilyn' by Christopher Lentz is a short and sweet introduction to the story of the book! The readers will feel interested in reading the book after reading the review! The bright points of the story have been mentioned in the review! The point that the author used real-life events to create a historical fiction piece that is nothing short of excellent is worth mentioning in the review! Nice to learn that the author's ability to paint the scenes and events with words makes us feel that we are watching a movie!

Interesting that the story is told from the viewpoint of one of Marilyn’s assistants during filming. I’m sure Penny saw and heard many memorable moments in the presence of such a film and entertainment icon. Thank you for your informative review! 📽

I also dislike when author's wrap up endings to books too quickly. I will still give it a read though just to see how the story pans out. I am sure it will be a lovely story full of heartwarming historic instances.

I think I'll be passing on this one. I'd rather read a nonfiction book about Marilyn Monroe.

I love reading books that have unique points of view. I've also been fascinated by Marilyn Monroe, so this book sounds like it's just the thing for a weekend read.
